What you will do: As the Finance Manager, your Key Responsibilities and deliverables will include:

1. Business Plan

3. Internal and External Control

  •  Monitor and Assist in developing internal control standards and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with the local taxation laws, prepare, and submit periodical tax reports.

4. Reporting

  • Assists in the preparation of monthly forecasts P&L and contribute to the analysis of performance (forecasts vs actual and trending).
  • Prepare annual budget of the P&L, cash flows/balance sheets forecasts, and contribute to the analysis of performance.
  •  Produce financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses, etc.

You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field, a Master’s degree is a plus.

You have a CPA or ACCA qualification.

Role:

JOB SUMMARY

The Field Officer will work and act as a link between local government, teen mothers, and different stakeholders to provide trainings on SRHR and organize community/district dialogues on GBV prevention with different stakeholders under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.




RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Overall coordination, management of project activities planned on the year 2021 in Gatsibo district according to the work plan to produce the envisaged outputs;
  2. Develop an operational plan in line with the approved budget and Kvinna till Kvinna requirements and ensure the project is delivered according to action plan;
  3. Develop internal progress narrative report on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis and any other substantial report required by partners and Donors;
  4. Ensure high-quality monitoring and evaluation of the project in line with Kvinna till Kvinna guidelines;
  5. Work closely with Empower Rwanda’s Country Director for any strategic guidance and Accountant to ensure quality financial reporting and audits as well as implementation;
  6. Make monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and submit them to her/his supervisor so as to align them with the expected project outcomes;
  7. Monitor project progress; oversee the management of logistics, local finance in keeping with accounting guidelines;
  8. Securing proper use of project budget;
  9. Identification and resolution of implementation problems with the guidance of project document;

Qualifications and Experience:

EDUCATION

JOB SUMMARY

The M&E Officer will provide technical leadership and oversight on the Empower Rwanda programmes’ monitoring, evaluation, and learning strategies and activities. This will include conducting workshops, research, and data analysis; producing reports and visual representations; provision of technical advice; presenting and sharing learning, and representation of Empower Rwanda.

The M&E Officer will lead the outcome harvesting approach; coordinate planning, data collection, and analysis for all project indicators being implemented in Rwamagana, Gatsibo, and Nyagatare districts; train ER Staff on data collection and analysis tools; and manage day-to-day review and feedback of collected data; and support M&E processes for the project in close collaboration with Head of Programmes. S/he will also ensure that learning from these surveys is translated into effective advocacy, including the production of policy papers, and learning events.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the Monitoring and Evaluation of all the projects in the organization

 Qualifications:

 Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Statistics, Demography, Mental and Public health or any other related fields.

Competencies

  • Working Experience of at least 4 years in Monitoring and Evaluation with a particular emphasis on developing systems and processes which generate and analyze field, programme, and organizational level results information.
  • Demonstrated experience performing qualitative and quantitative data collection and data analysis in peacebuilding and/or trauma healing programmes is a must.
  • In the development of M&E and/performance monitoring plans and tools.
  • Very familiar with project outcome Mapping/Harvesting, and/or Logical Framework
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office applications and ideally data processing and analysis software (SPSS, STATA, Kobo Collect, etc.)
  • Qualification in statistics would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to write clearly and concisely and to communicate effectively and accurately (orally and in written reports)
  • Good interpersonal skills: the ability to work in a team while being able to work independently and meet deadlines, including remotely.

    All scholarships take the form of a School payment towards tuition fees, and will be paid once the recipient is fully registered at the University of Kent.

    You should be aware that this scholarship does not cover the full cost of studying at Kent, and that you will need to have additional sources of funding in order to cover your accommodation, travel and living expenses.

Purpose

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead development of RMS private sector engagement action plan and market approach strategy.
  • Lead the RMS business intelligence relationship with other similar business organizations through memorandum of understanding, mapping of responsibilities between the different parties.
  • Lead the market development approaches and high level segmentation of local supplier optimization.
  • Assists RMS and its board to stay abreast of trends and issues in Rwandan private sector development from Rwanda’s policy process and from development partners;

Student Exchange Support Program (Scholarship for Short-Term Study in Japan)

International students who have been accepted into a Japanese university under a student exchange agreement are eligible to apply for the Scholarship for Short-Term Study in Japan, administered by JASSO. This scholarship consists of a monthly stipend of 80,000 yen, provided throughout the period of stay in Japan.

Applications should be made to Kyoto University through the student’s home institution, together with those for the exchange program itself. Direct applications from the students themselves, to either Kyoto University or JASSO, will not be accepted.

Scholarships from private foundations

The application process for private scholarships varies by program. Some programs accept applications from students themselves, while others require submission through the students’ home universities.

Kyoto University annually selects and nominates candidates for approximately 60 private scholarship programs. Each program typically offers a scholarship of between 30,000 and 180,000 yen per month to one or two students. Provost’s Assistantship

This highly competitive program grants two types of work opportunities for new full-time domestic and international master’s students enrolling at the University of New Haven. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This position will be based in WFP Rwanda Country Office, Karongi  duty station, and the job holder will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Associate in the Field office, under the technical guidance of the social protection and resilience output managers in Kigali, and overall supervision of the Head of Karongi Field Office.

BACKGROUND OF THE ASSIGNMENT

World Food Programme Rwanda works in partnership with the Government and other stakeholders through the direct implementation of integrated programmes targeting the most vulnerable people and will progressively shift towards building national capacity to formulate, manage and implement programmes for achieving zero hunger. In implementing its activities, WFP will bridge the humanitarian–development nexus and leverage its extensive experience and the contributions it has made in Rwanda over many decades in order to achieve four strategic outcomes outlined in the WFP Country Strategic Plan. Strategic Outcome 2 focuses on ensuring that vulnerable populations in food-insecure communities and areas have improved access to adequate and nutritious food all year. This Outcome encompasses capacity strengthening and direct programme implementation in the areas of social protection, emergency preparedness and management, vulnerability analysis, school feeding and climate-resilient livelihoods or food assistance for assets.

Under Strategic Outcome 2, WFP implements social protection and resilience activities, all geared towards contributing to the results outlined in national policies on social protection and climate resilience. In social protection, WFP partners with other UN agencies under a joint programme, where WFP’s contribution relates to developing innovative approaches for making social protection more responsive to climate-related shocks and modelling innovative approaches to accelerate social protection and graduation from poverty at the community level. In the area of resilience, WFP is implementing a comprehensive food assistance for assets programme to enhance community resilience to natural shocks through a stronger asset base, market linkages and social cohesion, modelling shock-responsive and nutrition- and gender-sensitive approaches. These activities are implemented in a total of seven districts around Rwanda with the highest levels of food insecurity and vulnerability to shocks and entail a complex and integrated workplan that this position will help coordinate and implement. JOB PURPOSE

To coordinate and perform monitoring of social protection and resilience activities and provide quality, accurate data and reports to support the effective delivery of these activities at community, sector and district level.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance.

Experience:    At least three years of relevant professional experience in the implementation or monitoring and evaluation of development or humanitarian projects or programmes.

Work experience in the agricultural livelihoods, resilience or social protection thematic fields is an added advantage.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordination

    SUMMARY OF SCOPE OF WORK

    NCCR seeks the Accountant, who will be reporting to the Executive Secretary. S/he will be responsible for developing and implementing financial procedures in compliance with internal policies and procedures. The key tasks include overseeing monthly financial transactions, procurement, consulting and purchase agreements, S/he will conduct the implementation of financial activities by ensuring that they are implemented in accordance with the organization’s mission, strategic objectives, and program approaches. S/he will be responsible for the day to day management of the finance of NCCR and serve as the main point of contact for financial management of Institution.

    Key duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records,
    • Comply and adhere to donor regulations and procedures,
    • Prepare financial reports,
    • Track budget/expenses to ensure proper cash flow,
    • Review all payables documents for completeness, validity and accuracy before preparing payments for supplies and services providers,
    • Prepare payments vouchers after ensuring that support documents are complete (request, invoice, delivery note, purchase order or contact, travel request and expenses),
    • Ensure monthly/quarterly declaration and payments of all statutory deductions to the RRA.
    • Produce and/or oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
    • Prepare the monthly staff payroll and disseminate pay slips to staff,
    • Reconcile on a monthly basis all project bank accounts,
    • Manage the petty cash,
    • Maintain check register & checkbooks in a safe place,
    • Participate in the budgeting process,
    • Perform any other task as requested by the supervisor,
    • Prepare and coordinate annual budget preparations for the board approval and monitor budget execution and report on any significant trends/variance.
    • Propose modifications in processes and procedures to NCCR Board and ES, as needed, including

    • Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures.
    • Build and maintain constructive and ethical business relationship with suppliers and private sector operators;
    • Ensure that monthly and quarterly site procurement plans are developed, submitted, and within budget limits and compliant with donor requirements
    • Prepare monthly status reports on procurement, assets,
    • Oversee and ensure proper storage stock items and assets and maintain accurate inventory, assets and stock management, system;
    • Supervise the work of the Driver, Cook/Cleaner and other supply chain staff and operations support staff;
    • Ensure that NCCR vehicles are managed according to NCCR’s policies and procedures, including efficient fuel consumption, maintenance and repairs, mileage monitoring, and reporting

     Technical requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and others related fields from a recognized institution,
    • At least five (5) years of experience in accounting or auditing
    • Computer skills: MS Office, advanced Excel preferred
    • Good written and verbal skills in English, Kinyarwanda
    • Experience in local taxes and statutory rules & regulations,
    • Proficiency in Software  such QuickBooks,
    • Standards of accounting,
    • Having prior experience of at least 3 years with International Donor funding or with local companies,

Essential Job Functions:

Coordinating project NCCR is undertaking and initiating new viable projects

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Planning of NCCR’s project activities according to its vision and mission, stakeholders and partners’ satisfaction and in alignment of the activities with relevant national/regional development strategies
  • Ensure the respect of the administrative and financial procedures for the smooth implementation of the Project activities
  • Coordination of the project according to the agreements signed by NCCR
  • Regularly monitor the budget with a view to efficient management and control of the use of this grant
  • Prepare agendas for meetings, attends project meetings, documenting meeting minutes, key decisions and any resultant action;
  • Regular evaluation of the project progress through established monitoring and evaluation instruments
  • Prepare, update, monitor and maintain project work schedules under the guidance of the Executive secretary and Regular reporting to the Executive Secretary of NCCR
  • Knowledge of the Rwandan Cooperative landscape is an added advantage

Profile:

  • At least University Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, project Management, Economics, or any other business management related discipline
  • At least 5 years of previous work experience in a similar position, preferably with demonstrated project coordination experience.
  • Fluency in English, Kinyarwanda, and French would be an added value
  • Proven management skills, while demonstrating innovation, creativity with a project initiative and familiar working with international and national organization, Government and private institutions;
  • Good understanding of:

(i)Business environment in Rwanda, (ii) Cooperative policy, law and regulation in Rwanda, (iv) Cooperative structure in Rwanda and issues affecting cooperatives in Rwanda, (v) Rwanda’s socio-economic situation of Cooperatives

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; very good communication, presentation and negotiation skills
