Purpose of the position: The position is required to plan, coordinate and execute tasks and responsibilities within the people and culture, administration, and HSE Department and ensure the smooth running of all the activities related to the people and culture, administration, and OHSE department.




ROLES

 Recruitment

  • Create organizational charts based on changes in business and ensure appropriate reporting at the local level
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop a recruitment plan for the organization and ensure quality talent is available as per the organizational needs
  • Develop partnerships with local schools, universities, and training institutions in order to attract the best candidates and develop the organization brand to become an employer of choice
  • Track candidate screening process and drive transparency in the recruitment and selection process
  • Ensure all new joiners sign contracts and ensure that the orientation and integration process is followed

Performance management and training & development

  • Jointly with Group Chief P&C Officer, formulate and implement appropriate policies and procedures to ensure effective performance management and continuous learning; Establish appropriate key performance indicators to measure and evaluate the performance of employees across the organization
  • Conduct training sessions to introduce the system, role of each employee, and guideline
  • Lead performance management cycle annually and ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Jointly with Group Chief P&C Officer discuss remuneration and rewards and ensure alignment with performance
  • Plan and propose training plan in alignment with employee development and succession plan
  • Drive the learning agenda for critical talent (local region) through tools such as Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and Management Development Programs (MDPs) among others
  • Partner with external trainers, vendors, industry bodies, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure up-to-date and best quality learning content for the employees

Occupational health, safety, and environment

  • Ensure adherence of health and safety policies and procedures by all employees/ workers across the organization
  • Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and hygiene of facilities
  • Plan / track appropriate training for staff with respect to health and safety and implement necessary initiatives to provide a safe and clean working environment
  • Track issues of teams/ employees being frequently non-compliant with safety gear and procedures; Drive action through the HSE stakeholders

 Policies & Procedures

  • Formulate P&C and Administration policies, procedures, internal rules, and regulations as per organizational and local region requirement; Share the same with supervisor for review; Communicate the same to stakeholders and track adherence
  • Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of office building and factory premises, register, signs and directions, use of company materials, office supplies,

Payayroll processing & leave management

  • Ensure timely payroll processing and compliance with all government regulations with respect to payroll processing, deductions, benefits payment and provide employees with their respective salary slips
  • Review / create salary grid and implementation of the same across the organization
  • Coordinate with heads of departments to ensure employees are able to avail their annual leaves, create a leave plan, and maintain leave records
  • Manage leaves and absenteeism on a daily basis and ensure a record of presence and follow up for absentees; Liaise with leaders to develop a plan for employees with significant absenteeism




People management

  • Track team performance at an overall and individual level and provide support/ guidance required
  • Manage effective resource allocation, enhance the capability quotient of team members and drive higher team engagement through appropriate P&C interventions

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters in Human Resource Management or any other relevant degree – preferred
  • The overall experience of 8+ years in Human Resource Management the steel industry or relevant industry
  • Business Understanding:
  • Understanding of steel manufacturing industry
  • Understanding of people and culture related trends in local country
  • Technical knowledge of all functions of People and Culture Management
  • Knowledge and skills to manage the administration and plant facilities

The Position:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the role of Mine General Manager will lead the development of the underground mining sections and related surface infrastructure through to full operating production capacity. Directing company and contract resources to ensure delivery of the project in regard to safety, environment, quality, project schedule, costs and production objectives.

Position Requirements

Applicants must be educated to Masters degree level and must have over ten years’ experience in underground mining of which a significant amount must be as a senior manager in a tear one international mining company. You must have a proven track record of operational optimisation, hold an internationally recognised blasting licence, a full driving licence, have the ability to use the MS Office software to an advanced level and have experience using mining software such as Micromine or Deswick. A first aid certificate and other industry related tickets and training will be favoured.

Job Overview

  • Establish appropriate strategies, policies, procedures and standards aligned with our company business requirements. Guide the development of operational activities for the business including mining, mineral processing, geology, ESG and administration to ensure a seamless operation from day one.

  • Build and empower your workforce to deliver the mine plan. Use your experience to build a skilled and credible workforce, ramping up to several thousand people (including contractors) for development. Deswick Mine Planner Software Specialist

The Position:

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the role of Deswick Specialist Mine Planner will lead the planning and design of the underground mining sections and related surface infrastructure using the Deswick mine planning software. The successful candidate will be able to interpret geological and mine survey data and incorporate it in the software to produce optimised 3D mine plans. The role will also involve the training of junior mining engineers in the Deswick software, mine planning and mine optimisation.

Position Requirements

Applicants must be educated to Masters degree level in mining engineering and have an advanced knowledge of Deswick mining software and MS Office, with a keen interest in mine optimisation.

Job Overview

  • Establish a training programme for graduate mining engineers covering mine design, optimisation, survey integration and general 3D CAD.
  • Work closely with the surveyors, geologists and mining engineers to develop detailed and optimised mine plans.
  • Provide technical support to the operations group to achieve mid-term and long-term objectives and maximise production.
  • Review plans and designs for regulatory compliance and compliance to the company policies, procedures and standards
  • Maintain, report and monitor production and performance data to ensure the company’s goals are achieved

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  4. Knowledge of statistics software (E,g. Advanced excel, STATA, SPSS).

 Job Summary

The Head of Finance is primarily responsible for leading the strategic function of Finance within the National Association (NA). Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and planning

 

      • Sets the strategic plans, objectives, and priorities of the Finance Department, through close consultation with the National Director and Regional staff.
      • Lead the development of the National Association annual budgets ensuring that organisational objectives are financially supported as economically as possible.
      • Propose and implement new financial and administrative procedures aimed at strengthening internal controls and systems.
      • Provides technical support to the National director as well as Location Managers in ensuring all strategic plans are economically viable.

Treasury, Liquidity & Risk Management

      • Takes a lead role in liquidity planning and quality check of the Organization liquidity plans.
      • Prepare risk assessments, coordinate, and monitor mitigation measures.
      • Takes a lead role in managing bank relations, Bank accounts, and their management & currency risks.
      • Ensures the Risk register is updated Annually

 Governance

      • Preparation and presentation of quarterly financial statements to the MA Board.
      • Ensures that all board finance related resolutions are followed through and implemented.
      • Partcipates in the audit and finance board subcommittee.

Audit

      • Takes lead in organizing for annual external financial audits for the Organization as well as specific projects and the implementation of action plans.
      • Take a lead role in facilitating internal audits and implementation of action plans.
      • Takes a lead role in the preparation of annual financial statements in preparation for the annual audit

Donor Contract Management & Reporting

      • Supports programs and Institutional funding functions in the formulation of sound proposals and budgets.
      • Takes a lead role in monitoring of Institutional grants, reporting & ensuring compliance with donor financial requirements.
      • Lead the preparation of monthly (and other) financial reports / statements to the Regional Office/Donors/partners.
      • Participates in assemment of sub grantees, partners, and CBO’s.
      • Ensure tracking of restricted funds.

HR Processes Support

      • Supports HR function in HR planning and budgeting.
      • Ensures accounting and programme staff receive adequate, Capacity development, to build their effectiveness on finance and compliance matters.
      • Responsible for ensuring set internal controls and guidelines are in line with various levels of management.
      • Takes a lead role in the recruitment and orientation of finance staff

Operational Responsiblities

      • Review and Development of new finance & administrative policies in line with international internal & external guidelines.
      • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations as well as seeking opportunities for tax relief, exemptions, or payments by government Ensures tax applications/payments, as well as statutory payments are timely and followed up.
      •  Review monthly income and expenditure statements (and other key performance indicators) and advises programme managers as well as the National Director on needed action.

 Knowledge, skills, and abilities required

      • A BA Degree in accounting or finance, Business Administration, Commerce or Finance and completed professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, or CIMA.
      • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience, at least four (4) years in (Finance) senior position and grants management.
      • Extensive experience in working with computerized accounting systems and database programs
      • Must be able to function effectively in a complex work environment and to set appropriate priorities and deal effectively with numerous simultaneous requirements
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Essential: English (fluent in oral and written communication)
      • Desirable: Local/native language (French, Kinyarwanda, Kiswahili)
      • Good Management and writing skills
      • Strong analytic and strategic thinking skills
      • Knowledge of and experience in structured financing and international fundraising as well as business planning and management skills is an added advantage.

Description of task

Under the supervision of the Head of Field Office, the UNV will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of livelihood, resilience and SAMS activities in the Far North. More specifically, the staff member will build and strengthen partnerships between WFP and local and international, public and private organizations and institutions working in market-focused agricultural development, post-harvest handling, good agricultural practices for the overall goal to improve access to markets for smallholder farmers/farmers’ organizations.

 

The UNV will perform the following tasks for the Country Office and Field Offices:

 

  1. Develop and lead the implementation of livelihood, resilience and SAMS strategy in coordination with CO units and partners.
  2. Review current livelihood and resilience activities with a food system strengthening lens in line with the development of tailored SAMS strategy for the Far North and North regions
  3. Lead the development of business linkages amongst targeted smallholders, farmers organizations, cooperatives, low-income farmers and other potential markets beyond WFP;
  4. Develop the capacity of supported households and smallholder farmers through targeted trainings and workshops to ensure they gain valuable skills in production, marketing and business development;
  5. Put in place farmer-friendly mechanisms and systems to reach smallholder farmers to encourage local food procurement from surplus producing farmers and support rural aggregation network for increased market access for smallholder farmers.
  6. Enhance the linkages between WFP and relevant line ministries to support smallholder farmers;
  7. Collaborate closely with FAO in the implementation of all activities supporting smallholder farmers and build synergies between the different projects;
  8. Prepare donor proposals, reports and visibility materials to highlight and advocate for the programme and to document good practices and lessons learned;
  9. Build capacity of WFP sub-office staff and partners to support the implementation of the resilience and SAMS activities;
  10. Support integration of nutrition sensitivity and enhanced gender and protection mainstreaming within the SAMS portfolio, through linkages with other units
  11. Contribute to the development of homegrown school feeding through linkages between SAMS, school meals, and other WFP programmes & activities.
  12. Identify and promote new tools, methods and solutions to mitigate post-harvest losses at household level while putting in place a PHL demonstration model at all Rural Centers and a barter system for the provision of the tools.

Advanced university degree or university degree with experience and training/courses in one or more of the following disciplines:

agricultural economics, social policy, rural development, agronomy, civil engineering, or related discipline(s).

  • A demonstrated ability to prepare concise and well-written reports and documents is critical.

 Major Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly supportive supervision of caregivers and parents committees on all ECD services delivery
  • Monitor the enrolment and attendance for ECD for all children aged 3 to 6 including children with disabilities
  • Support growth monitoring in collaboration with community health workers at ECD
  • Work with Inshuti z’umuryango to discuss about the children education and related issues identified in the community
  •   Ensure collaboration with the project stakeholders at district level
  • Prepare and submit data and narrative reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually) for the project

Qualifications and requirements

  • University Degree (A0) in social studies, education, public health, psychology, and related fields.
  • 1 year working experience in the field of supporting ECD (Community based ECD, home based ECD, School based ECD);
  • Have computer literacy;
  • Have strong written and spoken English and Kinyarwanda;
  • Be available and ready to live in Huye district.

The Higher Education Council (HEC) wishes to inform the general public that, through the Bilateral Cooperation between the Government of Rwanda and the Republic of Mauritius has offered to the Government of Rwanda fifteen (15) scholarships: five (5) scholarships per level of study (Bachelor, Masters and PhD].

     To be eligible for these internship opportunities, candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:

    PhD students:

    • Must be within one to two years of completing a Ph.D. in macroeconomics or a related field and be in student status (i.e. must be returning to university after the internship). Typically, internships are sought by those who are interested in the IMF’s Economist Program following graduation from the Ph.D.
    • Be below the age of 32 at the commencement of the internship.
    • Have an excellent command of English, written and oral.
    • Possess strong analytical, quantitative and computer skills.

    Masters degree students:

Purpose of the job

The job holder plays a key role to install, commission, and maintenance of the electrical system (high and low voltage, generators, ACs) and instrumentations in the manufacturing plan and within the corporate requirement and guidelines.




Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, commission, and maintenance of electrical system (high & low voltage, diesel generators, and ACs)
  • Support operations during shifts and on calls to achieve plant optimum production capacity
  • Installation, termination of data distribution frames, and a good understanding of signal generating units
  • Ensure efficient operations, troubleshoot, and take corrective action of faulty rectifiers, DC system units, alarm monitoring system, and AC units.
  • Installation, commissioning and Maintenance of different types of unit operation (eg: Bulk storage (Silos), Utilities, Milling, Extrusion, Packaging, etc.……)
  • Ensure efficient operation of shift effectiveness of preventive maintenance, strong support maintenance team shift activities, and generate reports and RCAs to the supervisor
  • Design earth formation for lower earth resistance and ensure that earth formation is fully implemented
  • Carry out earth improvement
  • Interpretation & implementation of electrical layout and diagrams
  • Monitor and maintain the efficiency of diesel generation
  • Complete electrical installation and maintenance within defined timelines
  • Knowledge about green solution especially solar system

I. Profile description
