Job description

– Provide technical support to Local Governments for effective implementation of infrastructure projects;
– Advise on infrastructure projects prioritization basing on economic opportunity and planning tools at national and Local Governments level;
– Conduct regular technical monitoring of work progress for execution of infrastructure projects in Decentralized Entities; identify challenges and issues related to projects implementation and provide technical advice to overcome risks
– Prepare timely and regularly technical reports and report on the findings of the technical monitoring missions
– Support in analysis of infrastructure projects profile documents submitted by Local Governments to LODA;
– Coordinate and ensure infrastructure standards are respected and implemented by Local Governments;

– Prepare and report annual maintenance plan of infrastructure projects implemented by Local Governments
– Facilitate all physical audits planned for LED and infrastructure projects
– Monitor the and report on the implementation of different physical audits recommendations
– Provide technical advices on infrastructure projects feasibility studies and detailed engineering designs developed by Local Governments;
– analyse requests and documents required for the transfers of funds allocated on infrastructure projects to decentralized entities;
– In collaboration of M&E staff, prepare periodical and situational progress reports on infrastructure projects financed by LODA.
– Provide technical assistance to Local Governments in all the technical matters related to infrastructure construction and maintenance activities
– Monitor the compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines during works construction and report to LODA and LG administration regularly on this topic
– Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

  • Co-ordinate the quarterly Academic Committee Meetings (attended by principal and other members that could be invited from the Office of the School Superintendent)
  • Be closely involved in the appointment and induction of new teaching staff;;
  • Be involved in the Appraisal and Performance Review of teaching staff;;
  • Monitor and liaise with the School Principal to suggest professional development courses attended by staff twice a term or 5 sessions in a year.
  • Be responsible for the regular review of whole school curriculum policies and guidelines;
  • Add opinion and thought to whole school development issues and execute any related additional roles as may be assigned by the School Principal.

Training Support Coordinator, USAID-Rwanda Schools and Systems Activity

Project Description 

The Rwanda Schools and Systems (S&S) activity will strengthen the education system to enable all pre-primary and lower primary school and classroom environments to be of high quality, inclusive, and focused on learning of foundational reading skills. Specifically, the five-year activity will improve learning outcomes by focusing on increasing Kinyarwanda literacy skills of boys and girls in pre-primary through primary 3 (P3) through four intermediate results: (1) Pre-primary education system enhanced to develop, promote and improve emergent literacy, (2) Lower primary reading classroom instruction improved, (3) School environments improved for increased lower primary reading outcomes, and (4) Education management systems strengthened for improved literacy outcomes. S&S will include a focus on learning for children with disabilities to ensure project approaches reach all children.

Position Description 

The Training Support Coordinator will support and work in close collaboration with the Teacher Professional Development Specialist and the Reading Advisor (lower primary lead) to support the project’s efforts to provide continuous professional development of teachers, teacher leaders, and other education staff in inclusive evidence-based early grade reading instruction.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

  • Support the project’s efforts to develop a comprehensive Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program for early literacy teachers.
  • Participate in the piloting and scaled-up implementation of the ICT-supported blended learning CPD for lower primary teachers
  • Work in collaboration with the MEL team to monitor the fidelity of implementation of the ICT-supported blended learning CPD system for teacher
  • Work with experts in literacy as well as cross-cutting areas such as SBC, school safety, SEL, well-being, disability-inclusion, and gender-inclusion to prepare trainings that integrate and reflect best practices
  • Contribute to the development and production of all teacher CPD and training materials including print, audio, and video mat
  • Co plan/organize and co facilitate the face-to-face and remote/online capacity building and mentoring for lower primary teachers.
  • Monitor and support the sector based orientations/trainings of teacher coaches, school leaders, and sector/districts education stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of the S&S activities in the field, liaising frequently with the S&S Decentralized District Coordinators at the partner organizations to determine the degree to which teachers are improving their teaching practices.
  • Conduct joint school monitoring visits with education local authorities to observe lessons, participate in school based Communities of Practices, trouble-shoot technical difficulties at the school level and report back on teacher and students’ progress to the Literacy Advisor and to the monitoring, evaluation and Learning Director.
  • Formatively evaluate teacher’s fidelity of implementation in authentic classroom situations, to support understanding of S&S effectiveness and areas in need of improvement.
  • Organize and manage the distribution of teacher and pupil resources in schools as well as all the orientation/training materials and keeping records.
  • Translate and adapt relevant teacher training documents as necessary.
  • Contribute to all other Schools and Systems activities as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in education, Curriculum, and Instruction with emphasis on reading, literacy, linguistics, or a related field

The Project “Prevention of sexualized and gender-based violence” (SGBV) with a special focus on women and girls is a joint Rwandan-German Development cooperation project implemented by GIZ. The project works in close collaboration with its partner ministry, the Ministry for Gender and Family Promotion (MIGEPROF), and selected other partners like Civil Society Organizations (CSO). It aims at improving the range of prevention measures offered by governmental and non-governmental actors for persons affected by SGBV.

A.Responsibilities

1. Responsibilities related to the project implementation with the partners

  • Contribute to activities that develop capacity and provide technical support and input to MIGEPROF through
  • Supporting learning and innovation processes/institutional learning through capacity assessment and facilitation of requested training sessions on SGBV prevention, innovative approaches, and related topics
  • Supporting the strengthening of organizational structures through exchange with MIGEPROF staff on technical details and preparation of joint activities
  • Supporting the collection and preparation of publications and/or dissemination of documented successful approaches in the prevention of SGBV including conceptualization, proofreading and further support to the editing process, especially for versions in Kinyarwanda language
  • Supports the preparation and implementation of baseline assessments and editing/preparation of recommendation papers etc. by supporting project staff and external partners in the creation of Terms of Reference and the monitoring of activities
  • Reviews concept notes submitted by CSO partners to the project and ensures overall quality of delivery in the context of Local Subsidy contracts with GIZ
  • Technical and organizational preparation of workshops and trainings with and for partners in cooperation with the Advisors and external staff of the project (such as consultants), e.g. with regards to gender-sensitive and client-centered approaches
  • Supports the organization and implementation of communication and outreach activities of project partners and ensures the implementation of the principle of Leave no one behind through support in barrier-free messaging and adaptation of materials,
  • Contributes to the gathering of lessons learnt and recommendations to adapt communication strategies

 B.Tasks

  • Supports the monitoring and evaluation (M+E) of activities and the overall progress of the project, following the monitoring and evaluation requirements of GIZ and the established M+E System of the project: Feeding data into the system and preparing overviews for reporting
  • Formulates appropriate input for various project reports including annual reports, and contributes to the other reports/publications as required by the Head of Program and GIZ Head Office
  • Supports the project-internal exchange of expertise

  • Proven knowledge of gender-sensitive and client-centered approaches
  • Experience in developing and conducting participant-oriented and methodically diversified and didactically designed workshops and trainings
  • Implementation knowledge in the field of gender as well as in the primary and secondary prevention of SGBV

Call for Tender for Clearing and Forwarding Services

Catholic Relief Services – United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ office in Rwanda (CRS/Rwanda) is a nonprofit international humanitarian and development organization working with local partners to serve the poor and vulnerable in Rwanda and globally.

Catholic Relief Services, Rwanda Program invites CLEARING AND FORWARDING SERVICES companies through this tender to submit the sealed bids for Clearing and forwarding services.

SECTION I: SCOPE OF WORK

The services are required by CRS Rwanda office located in Kigali -Nyarugenge District, Chadel Building 3rd Floor, street #: KN78 ST House #:2. The service consists of ensuring the Local customs clearance – Import/Exports that will be specified as an attachment to the contract, as per conditions to be agreed on with the successful Clearing and forwarding Agent (company), the requirements are but not limited to:

  1. The Clearing and Forwarding company will be clearing local customs – Import/Export.
  2. The Clearing and Forwarding company shall provide all logistical services of port/airport handling and storage, of various related equipment and materials on behalf of the CRS Rwanda in conformity with the provisions of the contract.
  3. The Clearing and Forwarding company shall provide handling services of the goods at Port/Airport, store, and transport such goods from Port/Airport to temporary storage facilities and thereafter to CRS office.
  4. The clearing and forwarding company shall be responsible to process duty exemptions for the goods and shall obtain necessary insurance covers for the goods from Port/Airport, in-transit to temporary storage facilities (bonded warehouse) and to agreed distribution destinations.
  5. The Clearing and Forwarding company will provide all personnel and equipment required to handle all goods incoming to and outgoing from its premises.
  6. The Clearing and Forwarding company will be responsible for all aspects of management of the Goods, including stacking, unloading goods from truck into the store, movement of goods from one place to another within the store and compound, and loading Goods from the store onto trucks or other transport providers, and other handing services as required by the Client from time to time.
  7. The Clearing and forwarding company shall submit clearing and storage (bonded warehouse) reports in the format as shall be specified by the Client. The reports shall be sent to the Client accompanied by invoice(s) for the value of the services rendered in FRW, proof of delivery documents, and duly signed receipts where applicable.
  8. The Clearing and forwarding company shall only be paid for services rendered during the contract period.

 SECTION I: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. The Bidder should be an experienced Clearing and Forwarding Company with the required registration and licenses to operate in Rwanda as a Clearing and Forwarding Company.
  2. The Bidder should also possess the work permit issued by the customs
  3. The Bidder should have at least 5 years experience of providing Clearing and Forwarding services.
  4. Three big references with an existing contract signed between client and the Clearing and Forwarding services Company.
  5. The bidder should be member of RWAFA and has a recommendation

SECTION II: FINANCIAL AND TECHNICAL OFFER

  1. Bidding documents quoted in Rwanda Francs (RWF)
  2. The bidder should clarify the service cost of Local Customs Clearance – Imports /Exports.
  • Duties exemption formalities.
  • Customs clearance import/export.
  • Offloading within Magerwa warehouse -, and
  • Vehicle/ Car/ Motorcycles registration
  1. The bidder should be precise in Bond Commissions – Imports/Exports
  • Vehicle for local consumption
  • Vehicle loaded loose cargo
  • Container 1×20’ FCL
  • Container 1×40’ FCL
  • International transit cargo
  1. The offer must specify if the prices are VAT inclusive or not
  2. Bid should state at which extent a discount (%) should be considered

Design target messages for different public users and prepare the budget related to;
2. Participate in elaboration and negotiation of contracts with suitable radio and TV medias for message dissemination.

B. Organize all surveys or opinion polls on services offered by the Commission on request of persons in charge

2. Collect, count and analyze survey results and proposals placed in the box for suggestions’;
3. Collect and process data obtained from users on basis of their expectations, satisfaction level, types of litigations, etc;

Warwick Chemistry Regional Coventry Scholarship

These scholarships are intended for students from the local Coventry area and those studying for undergraduate degree at the Coventry University and offer a £2,000 bursary for eligible candidates. Up to five scholarships are available for 2022/23.

Eligibility: Chemistry Taught MSc applicants studying for undergraduate degree at the Coventry University or students of other universities (excluding Warwick) with permanent out-of-term address in the CV postcode area.
