Qualifications and experience

A qualified Registered Midwife with 2 years’ experience, registered by National Council of Nursing and Midwifery (Rwanda).

Have a recognized Midwife working license from the National Council of Nursing

Excellent liaison abilities and good communication skills (French, Kiswahili and English preferred).

Willingness to work in resource poor environment and be culturally sensitive.

Ability to produce basic reports in English

Ability to work in a remote area

Experience of working in maternity /PMTCT programmes/ANC / PNC and FP-PAC

They will also be responsible for the further development and implementation of relevant procedures and the preforming of treatments required, during or immediately after a woman has given birth, in order to improve women’s reproductive health and to reduce pregnancy, delivery and neonatology risks. Qualifications and experience

Master of Medicine with specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a recognized University.

Pro-Femmes/ Twese Hamwe (PFTH) is an Umbrella of Rwandan Civil Society Organizations aiming at advancement of women status, peace and development. It was established in October 1992, and currently represents 53 member organizations within the country.  The mission of Pro-Femmes/ Twese Hamwe is to eradicate all forms of discrimination towards women, to promote their socio-economic political and legal status, and to enhance the institutional and organizational capacities of its member organizations through the promotion of sustainable human development approach based on gender equality and a culture of peace, justice and human rights.

To achieve her mission of promoting socio-economic status of women, funded by Trade Mark East Africa will implement “Building Capacity of Cross Border Traders on Rusizi II Border” project for 2 years. The project aims at strengthening capacity of cross border traders at Rusizi II, to increase their income, improve trade environment and support them to trade formally. With reference to the above; PRO-FEMMES/TWESE HAMWE is looking for a suitable candidate to fill a position for a FIELD OFFICER who will be working from Rusizi District.

Under the direct supervision of Project Coordinator and Programs Manager, the Field Officer will undertake the following specific tasks:

• Ensure the overall coordination of the project activities at field  level;
• Ensure program planning and implementation of project activities at field level;
• Conduct regular monitoring, evaluation and reporting on project progress to the Project Coordinator and PFTH management;
• Support women cross border traders to get all necessary  information on trade requirements, guidelines,  working  environment and support women by linking them to responsible institutions  in case of gender based violence ;
• Contribute to the project reporting and represent PFTH in different meetings and other events within the project coverage area;
• Collaborate with key partners of the project at border and district level;
• Perform other tasks as shall be advised by the supervisors at Pro-Femmes/ Twese Hamwe.

Desired competencies and qualifications for Field Officer

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Management, Finance or Accounting.
• At least 3 years progressive experience in project management specifically  related to trade, and gender;
• Broad knowledge of gender equality;
• Strong experience and knowledge of civil society in Rwanda;
• Experience in networking and advocacy especially on gender  related issues;
• Understanding of human rights based approach;
• Fluent in English, French and Kinyarwanda. Knowledge of Kiswahili  is an added advantage;
• Excellent communicator orally and in writing;
• Innovative self-driven and team player;
• Interpersonal skills with experience of working in multicultural contexts;
