Receiving the scholarship

To receive the scholarship you will need to accept both your program offer and the scholarship by the deadline. If you don’t accept the scholarship by the date specified in your Letter of Offer, the scholarship will be withdrawn.

Once you start studying at Griffith the scholarship will be applied prior to the census date of each trimester on meeting the ongoing enrolment requirements (see below). You must pay the remaining balance of fees, based on your enrolment, by census date.

Selection process

Successful applicants will be selected on a competitive basis.

Initial shortlisting by eligibility criteria will be completed by our Scholarships Co-ordinator. All applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are then forwarded to the next selection stage.

Applications will then be considered by an awarding panel. The panel will consist of representatives from Admissions, and the International Recruitment and Global Opportunities team. The panel will assess the applications based on your academic performance in your prior studies, and information given in the scholarship application. All panel members understand that applicants will have a broad range of differing skills, attributes and experiences.

Final award recipients and reserve candidates will be decided by the panel. Awards will be allocated across a range of subject areas and countries of domicile.

The scholarship will not apply for periods of industrial placement or overseas exchange, or if you suspend your studies for any reason.

In accordance with scholarship guidelines, students are allowed to hold only one University of Leicester scholarship, awarded either centrally or by a department. If you are awarded more than one scholarship, you will only receive the higher value award.

If you currently have a conditional offer of a place at the University, you will still need to fulfil any conditions stated on your offer letter.

Dean’s Freshman Scholarship

Those eligible to apply must have achieved at least two of the following:­

This scholarship is awarded to graduates of Lancaster High School attending Ohio University (Athens or Lancaster).

Fairfield National Bank Scholarship

Full-time or part-time degree seeking undergraduate enrolled in or accepted for admission to Ohio University Lancaster Campus and Pickerington Center; students who demonstrate financial need based on federal financial aid standards, as determined by the University’s financial aid office; recipients must be pursuing a degree in applied management, finance, accounting or related fields.

Freshmen Excellence Scholarship

Students who are incoming freshmen with a composite ACT score of 25 or higher and in the top 20% of their high school graduating class or a 3.7 grade point average will be considered for this full-tuition one-year renewable scholarship; students who complete at least 30 credit hours by the end of spring semester of the first year and achieve an OU grade point average of 3.3 will have the scholarship renewed for their second year.

Freshmen Achievement Scholarship

Students who are incoming freshmen with a composite ACT score of 23 or 24, or higher, and in the top 20% of their high school graduating class or a 3.5 grade point average will be considered for this one-year half-tuition scholarship; Students who complete at least 30 credit hours by the end of spring semester of the first year and achieve an OU grade point average of 3.3 will have the scholarship renewed for their second year.

  • Support the development of tools, processes, and approaches that continuously improve technical excellence and impact in the area of transformative approaches to GESI&WEE as part of the projects undertaken by the team of for FATE as an organization.
  • Lead, coordinate, support, and/or conduct GESI analyses, studies, evaluation or assessments as required by the projects being carried out.
  •  Assist with ensuring GESI sensititivity for the quantitative/qualitative research and evaluation projects
  •  Support team members to understand the role of GESI in different development settings.
  • Work closely with other specialists to ensure GESI criteria are well integrated into all the projects.
  • Present work being done in GESI

Required Education and Experience

Education:  

  • Master’s Degree in social science especially gender studies, or relevant discipline
  •  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience in gender-related field

Desirable experience: 

  •  Experience in research and GESI analysis.
  •  Experience in design, monitoring, and evaluation of gender projects
