Job Description

*Develop a Gantt chart for the remedial learning program and ensure its timely implementation
*Coordinate the timely and quality completion of program technical, financial, and grant deliverables, including Work Planning, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation, Quarterly and Annual Reporting, and expense reporting; ensure all deliverables are submitted to the Program Manager and SPIU Coordinator within the set deadlines.
*Work with consultants, experts, and implementing firms to ensure the quality and timely delivery of activities,
*Revise reports and training manuals produced by consultants, experts, and implementing firms,
*Lead the teacher training on the use of play-based learning and other teaching and learning participatory methods, tailoring classroom activities using alternative teaching methods, and employing universal design for learning practices in classrooms to ensure that every child is participating to his/her fullest ability in the context of a general education setting,
*Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources supporting the improvement of student learning outcomes,
*Collaborate with district officials and school leaders, consultants, other NGOs, NESA and REB staff to ensure the timely implementation of remedial learning program activities
*Conduct regular monitoring of the program implementation, collect feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders, report best practices, and report to the QBE Program manager any issue that might hinder the implementation of the program
*Support the remedial data collection using existing MIS and analyze them for decision.
*Ensure the use of monitoring and evaluation findings to inform program decision-making and quality improvements;
*Document and disseminate innovation and good practices
*Participate actively in relevant technical working groups at the district and national level in relation to the remedial learning program
*Respond to the various requests of the QBE Program Manager and SPIU Coordinator and REB Senior Management Team
*Oversee the delivery of high-quality, scientifically based literacy and math instruction to accelerate or remediate students in core subjects




Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Education Sciences

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Master’s Degree in Social Sciences

    5 Years of relevant experience

Minimum requirement:

  • Master’s or equivalent in risk management, actuarial science, audit, finance, accounting, economics, business or public administration or related field;

  • Receive final ruling and ensures it is captured, necessary actions taken and properly filed for future reference.
  • Maintain safe custody of the insurance instruments and documents such as organization seal, charged documents and suit papers, and ensure confidentiality and privacy of all legal data of the business.
  • Coordinate company matters that include Board agendas, Board papers and minutes, board annual planner, board charter, as well as induction of new board members, to ensure the board is effectively and efficiently facilitated to deliver on its mandate;
  • Advise the board on legal  matter to ensure that the decision that arrived at the board level do not expose the business to preventable legal risks;
  • Maintain the statutory registers and secretarial files to ensure confidentiality, safekeeping from loss and tear ,ease in retrieval, as well as  accuracy and completeness of information;

  1. SCOPE OF WORK

iPeace-Rwanda is looking for an accomplished Project Coordinator to manage and organize all aspects of the project, from simple activities to more complex plans.

The Project coordinator is an important position for this project with overall responsibility for managing, monitoring and coordinating the delivery of project activities and ensuring effective engagement with other key partners.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to be a quick decision-maker, ability to lead a diverse team of colleagues from different backgrounds, and to liaise with other implementing partner organizations to ensure operational and programmatic effectiveness.

The Project Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Programs with regular interactions with other colleagues and project partners in Rwanda as well as neighbouring countries. He/she will oversee a team of colleagues involved in this project and work with partners and beneficiaries to deliver results on time. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that project objectives are achieved and that project activities are implemented in accordance with iPeace’s and donor’s regulations and policies.

Ultimately, the Project coordinator’s tasks are to ensure that all project activities are completed on time, within budget and meet high quality standards.




  1. RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the project coordinator will include the following:

  • Provide overall project leadership, informing strategic direction and decision-making and overseeing administrative, financial and project management aspects to ensure effective and timely implementation of planned activities and appropriate expenditure of funds;
  • Serve as a coordinator between project partner organizations, external and internal technical advisors, and key stakeholders;
  • Coordinate all annual work plans, project reviews/evaluations and project activities with iPeace colleagues and other partners.
  • Ensure timely submission of all deliverables to the Lead Organisation, including annual work plans and project monitoring and evaluation plans;
  • In collaboration with other key iPeace colleagues in Kigali and in the field, foster and manage productive relationships with Rwandan government officials, provincial authorities and relevant ministries and institutions;
  • In consultation with key project staff and iPeace senior management, provide clear guidance to ensure advocacy issues are identified, an advocacy and influencing plan is developed, implemented, and works with government as well as other partners;
  • Ensure strong communication and coordination with all project stakeholders and beneficiaries;
  • Collect and share successes and lessons learned internally and among partners;
  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information;
  • Break down the project into achievable actions and set deadlines;
  • Assign tasks to project staff and assist with the management schedules;
  • Ensure that the needs of beneficiaries are met as project activities progress;
  • Assist in preparing budgets and managing project purchases;
  • Monitor project progress and manage any issues that arise;

  1. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Qualifications and experience below are required from any candidate:

  • A bachelor’s degree in law or in a related field with 5 years of professional experience or a master’s degree in the relevant fields with at least 2 years of experience;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English with very good proficiency in French (reports and meetings will sometimes be held in French). Proficiency in Kinyarwanda is an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the implementation of complex programs in Rwanda in relevant areas such as access to justice; the fight against sexual and gender-based violence, regional integration, improvement of governance, etc.;
  • Proven skills in strategic project planning, and strong organizational skills;
  • Proven ability to work closely with partners at multiple levels; experience in managing projects implemented in consortium will be considered an advantage;

  1. SCOPE OF WORK

iPeace-Rwanda is looking for a qualified and experienced accountant to manage financial transactions such as receivables and payables management, manage assigned expenses and incomes, bank transactions and other assigned current assets subjects.

The responsibilities include also assisting in the preparation of annual financial audit, by preparing and availing the requested supporting documents; assisting other departments when it’s needed; to perform the bank reconciliation and tax declaration and payments.

To be successful in this role, a candidate should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

Ultimately, he/she will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we are compliant with all tax regulations.

The accountant will report directly to the finance officer and organization management with regular interactions with the iPeace’s project partners. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that project’s finances are managed in accordance with iPeace’s and donor’s regulations and policies.




  1. RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the accountant will include the following:

  • Assigning accounting transactions in our system and ensure the correctness of computation.
  • Preparing payments after verifying all the required documentation and requesting approval for disbursements.
  • Performing periodical accounting closing
  • Following the accounting procedures and rules of the Republic of Rwanda, in order to ensure that the information presented in the financial reports is correct
  • Ensuring bank accounts, cash flows & balances for the organization are well managed and analyze the treasury position
  • Verifying compliance of invoices and salaries according to the procedures, and ensure their timely payment
  • Carrying out accurate reconciliation of bank journals with bank statements
  • Ensuring the daily management of banking relations;
  • Ensuring a quarterly update of asset inventory;

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience in similar position in accounting.

  • Possess proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and SAGE.

Legal aid will also be provided through mobile legal aid clinics that will be regularly offered in different locations in targeted districts.

The legal officers will be able to provide legal advice including assistance in handling cases through IECMS, prepare legal and administrative documents for clients, conduct filed trips to meet with clients, carry out research, and regularly identify and analyse legal issues.

  1. SCOPE OF WORK

iPeace-Rwanda is looking for a qualified and experienced driver to facilitate transporting services. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to be a quick decision-maker, ability to work in a diverse team of colleagues from different backgrounds, and to liaise with other implementing partner organizations.

Under the direct supervision of the management of the organization and Finance and Admin Assistant, the driver will ensure the transport of personnel, delivery mails, purchased goods and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to the assigned places reflecting the organisation’s values (respect of passengers and road users, respect of regulations, avoidance of uncivil behaviours, etc.).

The driver will regularly check oil, water, brakes and brake liquid, tyres pressure, battery levels and the entire vehicle, monthly, weekly or every 5,000 km (whichever is first), headlights, brakes, bodywork for dents etc.

Field trips with overnight stays on a regular basis are expected to be part of the normal duties.

  1. Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the driver will include the following:

  • Ensure safe movement of iPeace’s authorized staff, guests, partners, and parcels from one location to another
  • Driving office vehicles for the transportation of authorized personnel.
  • Collecting and delivering mails, documents, and other items.
  • Ensuring that all vehicles comply with the Minimum Operating Security Standards.
  • Taking care of the day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles, check oil, water, battery and brakes.
  • Ensuring that the assigned vehicle is kept neat and clean (interior and exterior) all the time.
  • Log official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes and greasing.
  • Following all rules and regulations in relation to the Road Safety Transport Authority.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the management of the organization.

  1. SCOPE OF WORK

iPeace-Rwanda is looking for qualified and experienced legal officers to provide legal support to remote clients through the toll free line.

The hotline legal officers will be able to provide legal advices, processing legal documents for clients through the toll-free line, performing research and regularly identify and analyse legal issues.

  • Receiving clients’ complaints and ensuring that their data are handled in the strict respect of the law and recognized data protection and privacy standards,
  • Providing legal advice to clients, promptly liaising with field legal officers and/or lawyer for appropriate follow ups;
  • Filling out data in the online data-base for real-time monitoring and data information sharing among iPeace’s legal aid team;

Responsibilities of the Gould Family Foundation (GFF) Biomedical Engineer (BME)

  • Manage biomedical personnel stationed in GFF French-speaking countries. Provide technical training and mentorship to biomedical engineers, technicians, and apprentices to achieve 80% proficiency in user training, maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting of medical equipment. Conduct timely assessments and develop training plans both online and in person. Ensure that all staff implements the GFF biomedical program in their respective health facilities supported.
  • Provide support to the Manager of Biomedical programs and operations with biomedical administrative tasks (managing biomedical projects) like maintaining spares and equipment inventory (requests, needs, and orders for partners), General medical equipment inventory of GFF donated and store inventory, tracking and monitoring critical equipment purchases and shipment, organizing and implementing training programs (CBEs /continuous biomedical education, coordinating and addressing issues at partner sites, monitoring GFF BME(T)/BA Key Performance Indicators, etc. Manage GFF equipment databases, updating standard operating procedures and policies within the GFF, etc
  • Implement GFF biomedical maintenance programs, processes, and procedures at partner clinics and hospitals; recommend best practices to improve medical equipment management through utilization and sustainability. Utilize and develop existing BME tools to improve tracking of medical equipment, usage, and documentation of biomedical activities
  • Plan and manage activities of biomedical apprentices, technicians, and engineers. Review biomedical staff monthly plans and reports and provide guidance and direction on implementation. Meet with local supervisors of engineers, technicians, and apprentices monthly for continued improvement in biomedical programs. Prepare critical equipment service calendars, and annual implementation plans for each partner supported, track and ensure their implementation on a monthly basis.
  • Support Biomedical apprentices and technicians with first-line troubleshooting and biomedical support for equipment in GFF partner health facilities. Recommend approved service companies for specialized medical equipment; Provide biomedical support to each partner; preventive maintenance, user training, repair, servicing, calibrating, etc
  • Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance schedules, following manufacturer’s instructions for inspection, testing, and servicing; Review and approve proper medical equipment inventory reports with health facility managers and BMET technicians and apprentices
  • Periodically evaluate equipment needs at GFF partner facilities and report “gaps” to the GFF Manager of Biomedical programs and operations. Address any biomedical issues and needs pointed out from facility site visits with GFF partners.
  • Train clinicians, medical equipment users, and biomedical apprentices and technicians on the proper use of biomedical equipment through equipment operation demonstrations and videos; support the biomedical technicians and apprentices to develop quick start user guides (to be placed on equipment)
  • Review new or proposed medical equipment, install, calibrate, update software, repair and provide technical support for biomedical equipment at GFF partner clinics and hospitals; schedule repairs on malfunctioning equipment during site visits or remotely with biomedical technicians and apprentices when not in the country;
  • Develop standard operating procedures for the use, management, and disposal of medical equipment when special needs arise e.g. develop pandemic SOPs like COVID-19 cleaning and disinfection procedures for the health facility and equipment;
  • Develop videos and GFF database for training users and biomedical technicians or apprentices on proper maintenance of GFF equipment.
  • Develop preferred suppliers list for spares, reagents, and consumables; Update specifications for GFF typical deliverables.
  • Develop yearly and quarterly work plans for support of GFF French-speaking partners.
