  1. Project Description

The purpose of the recently-awarded $17.4M Feed the Future Rwanda Hanga  Akazi (HA) Activity is to address the problem of insufficient employment opportunities and limited entrepreneurial success for Rwandans. HA will facilitate capacity development for Rwandans – particularly women, youth, and persons with disabilities – in key technical and soft skills required to participate in a modern workforce and will catalyse new entry and growth of inclusive enterprises. The program will be based in Rwanda.

  1. Position Description.

RTI is hiring Program Assistants for the Feed the Future Rwanda Hanga Akazi Activity. The Program Assistant will provide technical support to trainings, workshops and capture necessary data. This position will be based in Kigali, Rwanda, and will report to the Deputy Chief of Party

  1. Responsibilities of the Program Assistants include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain inventory of training-specific materials and order, as necessary, training equipment for all training events (e.g. speakers, projectors, etc.)
  • Serve as records management liaison for the trainings/workshops
  • Review internal reports, handbooks, training schedules, and other documents prepared by trainers for spelling and grammar, ensures that company format policies are followed, and recommends revisions
  • Ensuring all required information is entered into the Information Database Application for new trainee cohorts and their sites
  • Support the implementation of the project’s Private Sector Development activities in close collaboration with agribusiness development coordinator.
  • Monitor the implementation of partnership agreements and project activities related to IR2.

  1. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/management, economics, entrepreneurship or project management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience supporting in data collection as enumerator, with specific knowledge of the private sector preferred.
  • Experience in designing, planning, managing, coordinating private sector in Rwanda to implement development programmes and with USAID projects will be an added advantage.

The primary objective is to get qualified enumerators to support in undertaking surveys and routing data collection activities initiated by Ripple Effect. The main task that enumerators will be responsible is data collection of all facets. Hence, Ripple Effect will recruit experienced data collectors to undertake both quantitative and qualitative data collection with highest quality measures.3.0 Duties and Responsibilities:



Supervisor

  1. Ensuring that sampled households are identified and interviewed in an appropriate manner.
  2. Providing leadership and inculcate team spirit.
  3. Monitoring the quality of the data the interviewers collect.
  4. Controlling use of the vehicle(s) assigned to the team if any.
  5. Responsible for all accessories and other office equipment for the survey.
  6. Ensuring data entry is well captured in the field.
  7. Preparing data collection briefs.

Interviewer/Research Assistant

  1. Locating sampled households with assistance of the supervisor.
  2. Conducting the interviews to the targeted respondents and completing the questionnaire(s).
  3. Checking the completed questionnaires to ensure all questions are asked and recorded.
  4. Arranging for interviews and call-backs.
  5. Maintaining confidentiality of the interviews and the data collected.
  6. Taking responsibility for the allocated survey materials and equipment.
  7. Preparing debriefing notes for the supervisor.
  8. Forwarding to the supervisor all relevant notes.
  9. Interviewing and capturing household information using computer aided personal interview (CAPI) approach.


4.0 Skills and Qualification

Required hard skills.

  1. Degree in any of the relevant fields of social sciences, statistics, economics, development studies, monitoring & evaluation, and another relevant field.
  2. Prior experience in conducting field data collection work using participatory approaches in different locations in the country is essential.
  3. He/she must be willing to travel to the different regions of the project sites.
  4. Prior experience in interviewing and facilitating FDGs (Focus Group Discussions) and Key informant interviews (KII).
  5. Must have considerable knowledge of the local culture and context.
  6. Excellent knowledge of English and Kinyarwanda.
  7. Displays exemplary positive behaviors for consistency, predictability, and reliability at work to complete assignments and meet deadlines.
  8. Experience and knowledge on digital data collection approaches.

The selected Enumerators will work in Ripple Effect Operational areas. However, s/he may be required to make frequent travels within the respective project sites.

The selected enumerators will be active the entire period of data collection.

  1. Key Result Areas:

The incumbent will be charged with:

  1. Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and finance policies and make concrete proposals for its improvement

-Manage multiple NIRDA support projects.

Job Purpose

The cargo terminal billing agent shall be responsible for organizing proper monitoring of accounts receivable and ensuring timely and accurate billing of our customers٫, guaranteeing the company’s revenue. Responsible and keep close attention to details. Expect to exhibit a high level of professional ethics within supervised teamwork and be able to meet tight deadlines without compromising the quality of billing reports.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and issuing invoices, billing statements, and reports.
  • Make adjustments to invoices and statements as needed or required.
  • Following company guidelines and billing procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Monitoring accounts receivable and transactions in the system.
  • Keep great records and closely track and maintain billing cycles.
  • Maintaining accurate records and making updates to the system database as required.
  • Work closely with the finance team to affirm whether all payments are made and have a reflection on the company’s official accounts.
  • Doing daily reconciliations for all transactions performed within the warehouse and making sure all invoice amounts tally with system amounts.
  • Keep or file all hard copies for invoices issued and keeps a truck for all pending unpaid invoices and send reminders to customers.
  • Make sure that all checks are duly done and all requirements supporting the invoice such as AWBs, Proof of payment, and arrival notices are fully filed together with the invoice for future reference.
  • Closely monitor system shipment status updates and make sure that the correct status is executed in the warehouse system.
  • Resolving any errors or discrepancies with customer billing, accounts, or billing reports
  • Managing new cargo terminal contracts.
  • Cooperating with other teams to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Helping customers in case of complaints and questions.
  • Managing customer account reconciliations.
  • Creating analytical reports and presenting them to line managers or senior managers.
  • Participating in monthly and quarterly audits and clean-ups and should be accountable for all warehouse commercial audit queries.
  • Detecting and resolving errors in billing operations and other related problems
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the line supervisor.


Desired Profile: Required education, Experience, and Abilities

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer domains, Business Administration, Management, Finance, Marketing, or in any related business management disciplines.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Billing agent or in a similar accounting position or a good financial or accounting mind for a fresher or university graduate.
  • Proven experience and related knowledge of Billing is an added advantage.

Job Purpose

The Line A330 B1 or B2 Engineer is licensed personnel reporting to the Shift Supervisor and responsible for aircraft line maintenance and release to service. The Line Engineer works as an overall team leader during line maintenance as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting scheduled and unscheduled line maintenance activities and ensuring that the aircraft is released to service after maintenance is conducted in accordance with approved technical data;
  • Planning and coordinating the daily activities and ensuring that all equipment, tool and spares are available for the required maintenance activities;
  • Conducting rectification of aircraft defects and ensuring defects are corrected;
  • Recommending the required equipment, tools and technical data for the conduct of line maintenance tasks;

Desired Profile: Required education, Experience, and Abilities

  • Have at least 8 years in an A330 maintenance environment of which 2 years experience in line maintenance

    • Hold an aircraft engineer license on A330 with B1 and/or B2 category
    • Have an engineering degree; diploma or certificate in any of the following disciplines: aeronautical, avionics, mechanical, electrical or electronics

Job Purpose

To develop, plan and evaluate economically feasible cargo freighter network schedule options that permit maximum utilization of freighter equipment, provide maximum ground time for maintenance at the hub, allow smooth flow of cargo from point of origin to destination via Kigali hub and are well integrated with the existing passenger network schedule.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning of 2-3-year Airline schedules with close consideration of cost and revenue forecasts.
  • To plan and communicate to stakeholders short and medium-term schedules to stakeholders
  • To plan and communicate to stakeholders any ad-hoc schedule changes due to various reasons
  • To ensure accurate and correct schedules are displayed (including MCTs and City pairs) in the systems.
  • To plan and optimize aircraft utilization
  • To plan and optimize equipment and capacity based on demand/seasonality
  • Reliable for the management of Airline slots portfolio
  • To plan maintenance requirements
  • To optimize as many O&D connections as possible and plan reliable ground times and bock times.
  • To monitor and report on competition schedules and capacity
  • To effectively plan for charter and other ad-hoc operations
  • To distribute schedule information/bulletins both internally and externally
  • To produce schedule performance reports (competition skeds, utilization, block times analysis, transit/connecting cargo and schedule reliability)
  • To manage a reliable day-to-day operational schedule in liaison with operational Desired


Desired Profile: Required education, Experience, and Abilities

  • Degree in one of the following areas; Mathematics, Statistics & Economics
  • At least 1-2 years of work experience in financial or any other business-related field.
  • Understanding of the airline industry’s competitive and regulatory environments.
  • Business/commercial experience.
  • Familiarity with the company’s internal systems and processes.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks prioritizes work, handle heavy workloads, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • High level of accuracy, details and ownership which would drive to increase results.
  • Good with numbers.
  • With maximum age of 30 years.
