About You and The Role  

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Tools Engineer to join our Autonomy Annotation team, where you will play a pivotal role in building, enhancing, and maintaining the tools used for annotation to support Zipline’s autonomy development efforts. In this role, you will focus on developing and supporting tools used by both the Annotation Team, internal customers and external contractors responsible for annotations. Your work will help enable the quality and scalability of the data used to train and validate autonomous systems, directly impacting the performance and safety of our autonomous aircraft.


What You’ll Do

  • Tool Development & Maintenance: Design, develop and maintain a suite of internal and external-facing tools that support the annotation team processes.
  • Collaboration with Internal Customers: Work closely with the Internal Customers (Perception and ML teams) to understand their needs and requirements for annotation tools, ensuring that the tools are optimized for their workflows and deliver high-quality, accurate data.
  • External Tool Integration: Facilitate seamless integration with external contractors responsible for data annotation, managing tool access and ensuring proper data handling and security practices.
  • Automation & Efficiency: Identify opportunities to automate and optimize manual processes within the annotation workflows to reduce time and increase efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Data Integrity & Quality Control: Implement features to track the progress and quality of annotations, monitor for errors and provide feedback to ensure the highest standards of data quality.
  • Version Control & Documentation: Maintain versioned releases of the annotation tools, ensuring proper documentation is in place for both internal users and external contractors.
  • Bug Fixes & Troubleshooting: Respond to and resolve technical issues that arise with annotation tools, both in production environments and in development cycles.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other engineering teams (e.g., Data Platform Team) to integrate the annotation tools with other internal systems and pipelines, as well as ensure smooth data flow between teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor the tool usage and performance, gather feedback from users, and iterate on the tools to improve usability, scalability and efficiency.


What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL or Rust.
  • At least 3 years experience building, deploying, and maintaining software tools or applications that interact with both internal teams and external users/contractors.
  • Experience with API integrations, webhooks and other 3rd party integration technologies.
  • Familiarity with software development practices, including version control (e.g., Git), testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex software issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, both internal and external.


Preferred:

  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and experience building or enhancing user interfaces.
  • Knowledge of database management and integration (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) or containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with data annotation platforms or tools used in AI and machine learning workflows (e.g., Labelbox, v7, Encord, etc.).
  • Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or machine learning/AI-based tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

About the Role

Zipline builds and operates fleets of delivery drones to get critical and life-saving products to the people who need them, fast. Our software team powers this system by building and maintaining scalable digital infrastructure that enables our world-class distribution centers to serve customers with speed and precision.

We’re looking for a senior full-stack engineer to help improve and scale the order management and fulfillment system behind Zipline’s automated logistics service in Africa. About You and The Role  

As the Country Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services. What You’ll Do  

Procurement:

  •  Lead the procurement process required for company operations, including equipment, supplies, and services.

Vendor Management:

About You and The Role

Zipline’s long-range autonomous drone system is already delivering millions of medical products across Africa. As we expand into new countries and regions, we’re seeking a Deployments Lead to oversee all construction and deployment activities across the continent. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of new Zipline distribution centers, managing multiple country-level project managers and driving execution excellence, standardization, and scalability across all aspects of deployment – from site acquisition and permitting to construction, vendor management, and operational handover. About You and The Role

Zipline’s logistics network across Africa powers the movement of millions of products each year. The strength, agility, and efficiency of our logistics systems directly determine our ability to deliver impact at scale. We are looking for a continental Logistics Lead to own the end-to-end flow of goods from Zipline’s U.S. manufacturing hub and global suppliers to our distribution centers and warehouses across the continent. This role will oversee regional logistics strategy and execution, including inbound freight, customs compliance, domestic transport, and warehousing. Regional Leadership

  • Lead the regional logistics and warehousing function for Africa, overseeing freight, customs, and storage operations across multiple markets.

50% scholarship for 80-89 average mark: remaining balance: $2500

IV. Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following general eligibility requirements:
Citizens and residents of East African Community Partner States (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Federal Republic of Somalia).
Undergraduate Degree Diploma and Transcripts.
An English Proficiency Certificate with a minimum of IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL IBT 71 or higher is a mandatory document for both admission and visa procedures.

Bank Statement & Balance Certificate Selected applicants are required to present a 6-month bank statement and a bank balance certificate from a sponsor showing over $16,000 prior to their final admission to KDU Global.

The sponsor must be either the applicant’s parents or the applicant themselves. In cases where the parents are deceased, biological siblings may serve as sponsors.

  • Legal drafting of all agreements including but not limited to leases, and contracts for employment, commercial transactions, and supply agreements, etc.
  • Executes and manages appropriate legal action in response to litigation suits filed against the Cooperative by external parties and prosecutes third parties when company rights and/or interests are violated.
  • Assist in drafting legal advice within a specific area to managers and staff to ensure that decisions taken are legally correct.
  • Draft, review and amend legal documents drafted by, or sent to the organization.
  • Represent the organization at routine court hearings and tribunals to ensure that the organization’s interests are effectively safeguarded and so that it carries out its legal obligations effectively.
  • Briefing / discussion with the lawyers for legal cases to ensure Cooperative interests are safeguarded;
  • Monitor the progress of legal transactions to ensure that the correct actions are taken at the appropriate times.
  • Represent the organization at meetings with external bodies on specific topics to ensure that the legal aspects of any decisions are fully considered.
  • Assist in carrying out research and prepare reports on any legally complex issues to ensure that the organization has full information about the legal implications of any decisions.
  • Draft and review complex legal documents on various matters, ensuring that these are legally sound and/or to ensure that the organization’s interests are safeguarded.
  • Maintain an awareness of developments in the legal field which might affect the organization and prepare reports on relevant matters for consideration by management.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring the Cooperative operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and helping prepare briefs, complaints, motions and other court documents.
  • Drafting, negotiating, editing and vetting complex commercial agreements, contracts, Memorandum of Understandings, non discloses agreements, intellectual property rights etc. and providing litigation support.
  • Represent the Cooperative at court hearings and tribunals to ensure that the Cooperatives interests are effectively safeguarded and so that it carries out its legal obligations effectively.

Committee Advisory

Giving input and legal guidance in the loan processing and approvals as necessary, tender committee to ensure compliance with procurement process and avoidance of potential litigation and leadership committees.
