Salary (Pay Basis) : 1,086.70Euro (EUR) Monthly

NATO is currently looking for an intern who is willing to step up to the challenge of working in the Council Secretariat of the Office of the Secretary General.

The Council Secretariat is responsible for the preparation, organization and follow-up of high-level meetings, visits and events involving the North Atlantic Council (NAC) and other bodies at Ambassadorial, Ministerial and Summit level; the provision of protocol support to the Council, the Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General; and the coordination of NAC and subordinate committee business.
The Council Support team, of which the intern would be an integral part, is responsible for the logistical arrangements for meetings at Ambassadorial level and above, for issuing agendas and preparing minutes, as well as for supporting the Council Coordination Group

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

ESSENTIAL:

  • be in the possession of a Bachelor’s degree preferably in the areas of Political Science, International Relations, Security Studies, International Law, Diplomacy;
  • Sensitivity to customer needs;
  • Excellent drafting skills;
  • High degree of political awareness;
  • Experience in event organization;
  • possess the following levels of NATO’s official languages (English/French): V (”Advanced”) in one; III (“Intermediate”) in the other.

DESIRABLE:
The following would be considered an advantage:

  • Experience in taking meeting minutes;
  • Knowledge of protocol procedures;
  • Real-life work experience in multilateral/multicultural environments

In order for the Internship Office to assess your eligibility for the Internship Programme, please attach the following documents:

  • Copy of university qualifications you have completed and/or
  • Proof of ongoing studies with the dates clearly mentioned if you are still studying.

We prefer that these documents are in one of the NATO official language (English or French). If you don’t have these documents in English or French, please attach a self translation.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

This internship is paid, and you will work full time for the period of six months.
