Position: Project Engineer (Part-Time Consultant)

Contract Duration: 6-months with the possibility of renewal

King Faisal Hospital Rwanda Foundation (KFHRF) is a non-profit NGO that aims to support the growth of Rwanda’s health sector through the programs, partnerships, and services at King Faisal Hospital. The Foundation’s three main focus areas include specialized medical care and clinical research; education and capacity building; and social welfare.

KFHRF is seeking applications from qualified individuals to serve as part-time consultant Project Engineer to work closely with the KFH facilities and procurement teams to advise on projects plans and budgets, as well as the implementation and completion of the works. S/he will be provided detailed Key Performance Indicators and Terms of Reference.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work with the KFH facilities team to advise on project specifications and implementation plans
  • Advise on budget proposals and ensure cost efficiency for all projects, as well as alignment with the budget
  • Liaise with subcontractors and ensure that the contract terms are being met and that the works are on schedule
  • Work alongside the procurement team to ensure the quality and efficiency of procured materials and supplies
  • Advise on compliance and quality control issues, and ensure that the quality abides by relevant laws and guidelines
  • Develop a minimum of monthly reports for leadership and recommend areas of improvement

 Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, or equivalent
  • Master’s degree and/or a project management certification preferred
  • At least five (5) years of experience in project engineering, systems design, or similar
  • Experience with development and managing budgets
  • Working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD
  • Highly proactive and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High levels of professionalism and diplomacy, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Kinyarwanda required. French language skills desired.
