Purpose

S/he will serve as the main point of contact for all business development strategy, private sector engagement and external communications.




Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead development of RMS private sector engagement action plan and market approach strategy.
  • Lead the RMS business intelligence relationship with other similar business organizations through memorandum of understanding, mapping of responsibilities between the different parties.
  • Lead the market development approaches and high level segmentation of local supplier optimization.
  • Assists RMS and its board to stay abreast of trends and issues in Rwandan private sector development from Rwanda’s policy process and from development partners;
  • Implements a strategy to attract private sector engagement with RMS and ensures complementarity and coordination between RMS and private sector actors;
  • Raises awareness on business development issues within RMS or with private sector actors.
  • Proposes and supports a timeline for the implementation of privatization strategies of RMS including preparation of business plans, sustainability strategies, and financing approaches;
  • Provides substantive technical support in the conceptualization, planning, implementation of RMS external communications.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in the following fields is preferable, business management, project management, marketing, economics or a related field.
  • Banking experience is an added asset.

  • Provide training and capacity building to central and district RMS staff
  • Participate in planning and delivery of training for health facility pharmacy staff in record keeping and reporting
  • Participate in DQAs and supervision of data validation activities at district and central levels

 Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A master’s degree preferably in the field of monitoring and evaluation, computer engineering, informatics, statistics or epidemiology.
  • S/he will have at least five years’ professional experience in areas of information technology such as systems integration, software design and support, and basic knowledge in Web design. Working experience in USAID project is preferred.
  • Skilled in knowledge management processes to create, share, use and manage the knowledge and supply chain information.
  • Skilled in causal model development and data quality validation,
  • Familiarity with strategic information management systems integration and interoperability,
  • Skilled in designing and implementing routine monitoring, data collection, evaluation and reporting processes), and,

Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarships

Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarships are funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan. Applications should be made before matriculation, either through a Japanese embassy or consulate (embassy recommendations), or through the host university in Japan (university recommendations). Student Exchange Support Program (Scholarship for Short-Term Study in Japan)

International students who have been accepted into a Japanese university under a student exchange agreement are eligible to apply for the Scholarship for Short-Term Study in Japan, administered by JASSO. This scholarship consists of a monthly stipend of 80,000 yen, provided throughout the period of stay in Japan.

Applications should be made to Kyoto University through the student’s home institution, together with those for the exchange program itself. Direct applications from the students themselves, to either Kyoto University or JASSO, will not be accepted.

Scholarships from private foundations

The application process for private scholarships varies by program. Some programs accept applications from students themselves, while others require submission through the students’ home universities.

Kyoto University annually selects and nominates candidates for approximately 60 private scholarship programs. Each program typically offers a scholarship of between 30,000 and 180,000 yen per month to one or two students. Applications are generally accepted following matriculation (some programs accept applications from those who have been accepted into a university, but have not yet matriculated).

Please note that many of these scholarships expect applicants to have a certain level of Japanese language proficiency.

Provost’s Assistantship

Research Assistantship

Job description:

Managing Director will work with Three Stones International Senior management team to implement our portfolio in Rwanda. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This position will be based in WFP Rwanda Country Office, Karongi  duty station, and the job holder will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Associate in the Field office, under the technical guidance of the social protection and resilience output managers in Kigali, and overall supervision of the Head of Karongi Field Office.

BACKGROUND OF THE ASSIGNMENT

World Food Programme Rwanda works in partnership with the Government and other stakeholders through the direct implementation of integrated programmes targeting the most vulnerable people and will progressively shift towards building national capacity to formulate, manage and implement programmes for achieving zero hunger. In implementing its activities, WFP will bridge the humanitarian–development nexus and leverage its extensive experience and the contributions it has made in Rwanda over many decades in order to achieve four strategic outcomes outlined in the WFP Country Strategic Plan. Strategic Outcome 2 focuses on ensuring that vulnerable populations in food-insecure communities and areas have improved access to adequate and nutritious food all year. This Outcome encompasses capacity strengthening and direct programme implementation in the areas of social protection, emergency preparedness and management, vulnerability analysis, school feeding and climate-resilient livelihoods or food assistance for assets.

Under Strategic Outcome 2, WFP implements social protection and resilience activities, all geared towards contributing to the results outlined in national policies on social protection and climate resilience. In social protection, WFP partners with other UN agencies under a joint programme, where WFP’s contribution relates to developing innovative approaches for making social protection more responsive to climate-related shocks and modelling innovative approaches to accelerate social protection and graduation from poverty at the community level. In the area of resilience, WFP is implementing a comprehensive food assistance for assets programme to enhance community resilience to natural shocks through a stronger asset base, market linkages and social cohesion, modelling shock-responsive and nutrition- and gender-sensitive approaches. These activities are implemented in a total of seven districts around Rwanda with the highest levels of food insecurity and vulnerability to shocks and entail a complex and integrated workplan that this position will help coordinate and implement. The work is done in close collaboration with NGO partners and local government.




JOB PURPOSE

To coordinate and perform monitoring of social protection and resilience activities and provide quality, accurate data and reports to support the effective delivery of these activities at community, sector and district level.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance.

Experience:    At least three years of relevant professional experience in the implementation or monitoring and evaluation of development or humanitarian projects or programmes.

Coordination

In order to adapt the development of study abroad in China and increase the use efficiency of scholarship for international students, Hubei Province has established regulations of Hubei Provincial Scholarships Management for the purpose of talents cultivation, scientific researches, social service and cultural exchanges in universities and colleges.

Scholarship Standard

1.1 Scholarships are provided for supporting tuitions in principle. Land Surveyors / Topographer (2Nos):

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying or related field; with minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in road projects including 2 years of experience of surveyor in  road construction/ rehabilitation/maintenance projects;
  • Or a Diploma A1 in Surveying or related field, with minimum of 4 years’ experience as surveyor in road projects.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting reports;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work in diverse teams;
  • Being registered in a professional body will be an advantage
