THE JOB

Our client is looking for a passionate Counselling Specialist focused on improving health care and patients’ lives. The Counselling Specialist will need excellent customer service skills and will play a big role in providing a link from hypertension or diabetic patient to their provider, answer non-treatment questions, sharing health tips with patients, and encouraging them to be adherent with their health care plans.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities;

  1. Calm demeanour to support calls, counselling patients, and referral of patients to providers.
  2. To easily connect and empathize with patients and their care providers.
  3. Support patient’s care provider in managing patients remotely.
  4. Based on patient responses and relevant ideas, contribute to improving the Empower Health system by sharing feedback and joining innovation sessions.
  5. Complete weekly Teleconsulting services with Empower Health patients and ensure that assigned tasks and reports are executed successfully and completed within needed time frames to meet program objectives and milestones.
  6. Should follow Medtronic’s and Empower Health’s processes and systems
  7. Collaborate with Empower Health program staff via email, weekly or bi-weekly teleconferences.
  8. Complete all required Medtronic and program training.
  9. Any additional duties assigned to deliver the overall Empower Health Goal.

QUALIFICATIONS

The job holder should have the following qualifications;

  1. Diploma/ Certificate in Health/Medical or Biology-related field.
  2. 2 to 3 years counselling experience.
  3. Excellent communication skills in English and local languages.
  4. Good understanding of MS Office and basic computer skills.

The client seeks to fill the above position with a suitably qualified and competent professional individual with good experience as an IT & Technical Support Specialist in the medical industry and providing hardware and software support.

THE JOB

The IT & Technical Support Specialist will be tasked with driving operations for the Empower Health business in a specific area assisting our clients and patients and also for providing IT support expertise for the Empower Health business.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities;

  1. Provide excellent customer service technical support and IT expertise for Empower Health clients in Rwanda.
  2. Provide support for Empower Health hardware and software issues and provide maintenance support, as necessary.
  3. Work closely with Empower Health program staff in Rwanda, other African countries and the United States, as well as vendors and developers to troubleshoot issues reported from clients. Along with troubleshooting, document and communicate issues and resolutions per Medtronic Labs’ Quality processes.
  4. Along with the Empower Health team, deliver didactic and hands-on Empower Health training to users, including Healthcare providers, Pharmacy staff, Community Health Workers, and Patients. Work closely with Medtronic team and partners, Regional/District Health Management Teams, to coordinate training session scheduling.
  5. Support the collection of Empower Health hardware from identified distributer(s) and prepare them for customer users by loading the software onto the phone(s) or tablet(s) and testing both the hardware and software prior to delivery.
  6. Perform representative testing of new versions of the Empower Health software application (e.g., when new versions are released, or in response to Android OS changes).
  7. Deliver standardized client satisfaction surveys to ensure that each client and facility is functioning at full Empower Health potential.
  8. Based on field learnings, client feedback, and relevant ideas, contribute to improving the Empower Health system by sharing feedback and joining innovation sessions.
  9. Collaborate with Empower Health program staff via email, weekly or bi-weekly teleconferences.
  10. Complete weekly Operations Reports and ensure that assigned tasks are executed successfully and completed within needed time frames to meet program objectives and milestones.

Program Assistant Duties:

  • Accompany MCC’s Rwanda partner organizations who are implementing efforts in agriculture, economic support, education, and peacebuilding, with the goal of helping the partners continually increase their program effectiveness and positive impact for participants. This will include performing the following activities in collaboration with the Program Officer:
    • participate in regular partner planning meetings.

    • regularly and frequently visit partner organizations and their projects to build relationships, learn about the local context, and monitor and understand their work. Currently, this involves work in six districts, so travel and occasional overnight trips will be involved
  • Maintain legal INGO registration in collaboration with the Rwanda Program Officer:
  • Relate to national and district officials during project activities.
  • Report to national and district officials about completed activities.
  • Submit annual plans to national and district officials on anticipated budgets and activities.
  • Manage MCC vehicles including annual IT registration renewals and Controle Technique inspections, as well as maintenance/repair arrangements.
  • Manage residency logistics of MCC Representatives and Service Workers as needed, including guidance for acquiring visa work permits and for housing arrangements
  • Support service-learning program participants (usually 1-3 young adults/year from North America) who have 11-month service-learning assignments with MCC partners. This includes communicating with their host families and supervisors and providing social support when needed.
  • Support the recruitment and orientation of IVEP and YAMEN program participants (1-3 Rwandan young adults/year serving 11-month service-learning assignments outside of Rwanda.)
  • Provide language interpretation between English and Kinyarwanda as needed, particularly at meetings between MCC partners and English-speaking MCC staff.

Administrative Assistant Duties:

Support the Finance Administrative Officer by:

  • Inputting monthly financial transaction data into MCC’s accounting database.
  • Paying routine bills, collecting invoices/receipts, and tracking payment confirmations.
  • Doing errands such as delivering checks to the bank, shopping for small office supplies, tidying the office, picking up mail, etc.
  • Performing other tasks as needed to enable the Finance Administrative Officer to meet reporting deadlines or/and to take leave.

 Qualifications:

  • University degree with preference for a major in Development, Project Management, Agriculture, Education, or Business Administration, with at least 2 years of experience in the INGO sector.
  • Good written and spoken English and Kinyarwanda (written and spoken French a plus.)
  • Administrative skills (computer skills including Microsoft Office with Excel.)
  • Highly-organized and proficient in computer-based narrative documentation, data entry, filing, and spreadsheets.
  • Rwanda driver’s license and driving experience a plus.
