About the Role

The Finance Team is seeking a finance professional to join their Accounting Team that serves ten One Acre Fund operating countries and is centralized in Rwanda. As the Accounting Specialist your duties will include recording daily financial transactions, preparing and reviewing periodic reconciliations, and leading a team of three. You will report to Accounting Associate and contribute to the continued improvement of accounting procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Record financial transactions
    • Record and maintain accurate daily financial transactions that are supported by valid source documents in the general ledger.
    • Review the supporting source documents to resolve any discrepancies and irregularities promptly.


  • Reconcile and analyze the trial balance 
    • Prepare/review Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts reconciliations on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis including cash, prepayments, receivables, fixed assets, payroll, rent, and revenues.
    • Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations and financial data analysis following our policies.
    • Collaborate with other finance team members to generate and analyze management/actual vs. budget reports.
    • Collate supporting documents as requested by auditors to evidence validity and accuracy of transactions recorded for the period under audit.
  • Lead a small team
    • Manage a team of three and work with the wider finance team to improve the accounting processes and continue to build an efficient accounting function.

Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance or other related field with one of them managing a team
  • Practical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets) with intermediate excel usage level
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Language: English

About the Role

This is an exciting role for a supply chain or operations management enthusiast. The post holder will manage the Rwanda Procurement operations and team, overseeing the purchase of operational goods and services on behalf of One Acre Fund Rwanda smallholder farmers. The role is very dynamic and the environment is fast paced with a lot of opportunity to drive significant impact via operational excellence and enriching strategic projects.

The post holder shall manage three sub teams in the procurement department.

Contribute significantly to the mission of the Organization by sourcing quality goods and services at below market prices to drive cost savings and client satisfaction.

Manage a team of +11 people and report to the Global Procurement Senior Associate.

Lead all local initiatives to source operational goods and services.

Responsibilities

  • Management
    • Train team in identifying quality, high-level suppliers and negotiating the best prices and terms.
    • Set clear and well-documented expectations for all team members and hold staff accountable to these rigorous expectations.
    • Identify and address team development needs and provide support

Roles & Responsibilities

  • A document controller is a controller responsible for the timely, accurate, and efficient preparation and management of documents. They control the numbering, sorting, filing, storing, and retrieval of both electronic and hard copy documents produced by technical teams, projects, or departments.
  • Implementation of the document control matrix with the client.
  • Transmittal of official documents through the communication matrix.
  • Follow up on received documents and makes sure they are acted upon and answered.
  • Makes sure that contractual documents are submitted on time in line with the contract.
  • Assist in the Handover of Documentation at Project Close Out
  • Manage requests for documentation.

  • Be fully conversant with the terms and conditions of the project and have a complete understanding of the scope of work.

  • Be responsible for the preparation of DPR’s, Variation Orders and SI’s.

  • To prepare a detailed project schedule in Primavera.

  • To ensure that DPR’s and SI’s are signed and returned by the Client no later than 48 hrs after submittal as stipulated in the contract.
  • Participate in daily SIMOPS and progress meetings with the Client.
  • To alert the CEO and Project Manager on possible delays in the project, so management can alert the Client as per the contract.
  • Prepare EOT claims where applicable.
  • Assist in End on Project documentation.


Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in large scale construction projects and familiar with the terms and conditions of the project and have a complete understanding of the scope of work.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in project planning or related field.
  • Be conversant with “Primavera” programming software – level 4.
  • Be familiar with FIDIC Contracts.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Ability to identify bottle necks, critical tasks, and possible delays.

The Opportunity 

As the Logistics and Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for inventory management and logistics functions of malaria vector control activities for the PMI Evolve Project. You will ensure that commodities used in integrated vector control (IVC) campaigns are secure and safely stored at the project’s main warehouse. You will help arrange for the logistics of delivering all IVC commodities – whether IRS, ITN, or new malaria vector control products – to campaign operations sites in various locations, and assuring accurate inventory counts for all commodities being used during an IVC campaign. You will be expected to liaise regularly with the seasonally employed district and sector storekeepers, logistics assistants, and/or IVC site supervisors during campaigns to ensure all needed commodities remain in-stock, and updating project staff of stock movements, inventories, and trends.

Project Description

The PMI Evolve Project supports the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) and USAID to plan and implement an integrated vector control strategy with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria while promoting equity to sustain malaria gains. Abt has implemented integrated vector control for PMI since 2011, delivering high-quality indoor residual spraying (IRS), technical assistance for insecticide-treated net (ITN) distribution and durability monitoring, and new approaches for larval source management (LSM). Additionally, Abt’s PMI-funded work manages the most comprehensive malaria vector entomological surveillance programs in 21 African countries to inform malaria vector control trends, strategies, and impact. Under the PMI Evolve Project, Abt will further its delivery of integrated vector control programs by partnering with local communities, organizations, and governments to co-design and co-implement tailored malaria vector control programs. The end goal is fighting malaria while strengthening local capacity to sustain malaria gains.


Core Responsibilities 

  • Management of the project’s inventory control system, including storage, quality control, inventory record keeping, and inventory reporting.
  • Working with the project staff to supervise the storage, distribution, and transport of IVC-whether IRS, ITN, entomology, or new malaria vector control products- commodities and equipment throughout the country.
  • Preparing logistics and materials distribution plan prior to each IRS campaign or ITN distribution.
  • Receipt and quality control of delivered goods to project warehouse.
  • Processing appropriate hard copy and/or digital supply chain documentation to document stock movement and updating stock cards to assure an accurate count of IVC commodities at the central warehouse.
  • Working with project staff to supervise storekeepers, IRS operation sites, and/or ITN distribution points.
  • Assuring accurate and exact knowledge of IVC malaria commodities at the central warehouse.
  • Ensuring that at the end of an IVC campaign and/or distribution event, the personal protective equipment (PPE) and commodities are retrieved from the districts and are accurately recorded in the stock register.
  • In collaboration with the Environmental Compliance & Safety Officer:
  • Ensuring that all health and safety measures are in place and followed when utilizing insecticide- or larvicide-based products.
  • Ensuring clearance and proper disposal of all waste material and excess items from project store.

Kivu Choice is the sister company to Victory Farms, the largest aquaculture platform in East Africa, based in Kenya. About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager who is ready to add immediate value to our operations team. He/she will be based in Kagano, Nyamasheke half of the time split with Kigali office.

What you will do:

  • Manage transportation logistics, including negotiating contracts with carriers and freight forwarders, arranging shipments, and selecting optimal shipping methods to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate transportation of fish from the farm to the logistics centers in different parts of the country.
  • Coordinate transportation of fish from the logistics centers to the different branches located across the country.
  • Manage transportation logistics for feed coming from our different feed supplies to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales and production teams, to optimize transportation routes and ensure efficient distribution.
  • Oversee inventory levels of fish products at various distribution centers and retail outlets to maintain adequate stock levels and maximize efficiency.
  • Implement inventory control measures to ensure product freshness and minimize spoilage.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of fish storage facilities and transportation equipment to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret logistics data to identify trends, optimize processes, and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as delivery times, inventory accuracy, and cost management.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of logistics personnel, including warehouse staff, drivers, and administrative staff.

  • 3 + years of experience in the logistics operations, preferably within the perishable goods industry.

  1. About Rwanda Civil Society Platform

Rwanda Civil Society Platform (RCSP) is an apex national non-governmental organization (NGO) composed of 12 umbrella organizations. Since its establishment in 2004, RCSP has strived to strengthen its capacity to effectively coordinate and represent its various constituencies that include civil society organizations. The mission of RCSP is to represent its members in the process of facilitating citizen participation and sustainable development efforts through constructive dialogue, debate and advocacy at national and international levels.


  1. Purpose of the position

Rwanda Civil Society Platform (RCSP) is seeking an experienced and motivated project coordinator to join our team. The person will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of the new project on Citizen Participation and Civic engagements. She/he will be expected to oversee that project from the start up to closure.

The project coordinator will coordinate the schedule, budget, issues and risks of the project. Her/his will ensure the project management framework is well-organized and that it runs smoothly. This will also include communicating with various departments in the organization to make sure everyone is on the same page. Working with the management team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of grants, organizational strategies, policies and practices.

Job title: Project Coordinator

Reporting to: Programs Manager

Job location: Kigali with frequent travel inside the country

Contract: One-year renewable

Start date: July 


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop project management documents such as project budgets, project schedules, scope statements and project plans;
  • Execute project management administrative and bookkeeping tasks such as managing invoices, purchase orders and inventory reports, among other financial documents;
  • Participate in the project procurement process;
  • Organize and lead meeting with project stakeholders to assess their needs and define project requirements, acceptance criteria and project timelines
  • Coordinate the allocation of project resources to partners whenever relevant and ensure the project team has what’s needed at the right time;
  • Assign tasks to team members and help them understand what’s expected from them in terms of project milestones and deliverables
  • Be the liaison between the project team and RCSP Management;
  • Schedule stakeholder meetings, document and generate reports;
  • Foster cross-team collaboration to help project team members complete project tasks and produce deliverables;
  • Monitoring project progress and creating project status reports for RCSP and stakeholders;
  • Assisting with resource scheduling so that team members have the resources they need to complete their tasks;
  • Scheduling stakeholder meetings and facilitating communication between the project manager and stakeholders;
  • Managing project management documents such as the project plan, budget, schedule or scope statement;
  • Executing a variety of project management administrative tasks such as billing and bookkeeping;
  • Support team members when implementing risk management strategies;
  • Provide any other support wherever required.

  1. Project Coordinator Education & Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, social science, management or a related field.
  • Certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) or alike, constitutes an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in similar positions.
  • Experience working with local CSOs.
  • Experience in citizens’ engagement and participation is an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of project management software being an added advantage.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

The Embassy of the United States of America in Kigali is recruiting for Chauffeur position. The position is open to All Interested Candidates/All Sources and available to start immediately.


Duties: The Chauffeur serves as a driver of passenger and utility vehicles to transport passengers and cargo in the City of Kigali and on trips outside the city; the job holder serves on call as duty driver on a rotating basis with other drivers; and provides chauffeur services for VIP visits. The Chauffeur operates motor vehicles to transport Embassy personnel and equipment in official vehicles with-in the Kigali area and for out-of-town trips, in accordance with instructions from the Dispatcher, Motor Pool Supervisor or GSO. The job holder maintains the Safety, Health and Environmental Management (SHEM) regulations pertaining to safe driving.  Operates utility vehicles for delivery of correspondence, materials, equipment and workers to worksites as necessary.  Serves as after-hours duty driver on a rotating schedule; Drives VIP visitors as required; maintains vehicle in clean and serviceable condition and completes daily vehicle checks.  Additionally, the Chauffeur completes trip tickets and other daily vehicle condition reports.
