Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules and baseline plans using appropriate scheduling software.
  • Ensure project schedules align with approved Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Monitor project progress, milestone achievements, and overall performance.
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to track project activities and assess their impact on schedules and manpower requirements.
  • Prepare and issue project plans, schedules, and updates in line with reporting requirements.
  • Assess and communicate schedule impacts of change notifications and change requests.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis and support project control compliance and continuous improvement reviews.
  • Collaborate with cost control teams to ensure accurate forecasting and integration of schedule changes.
  • Produce updates on manpower requirements and resource loading.
  • Identify critical paths and ensure all project schedules are logic-linked with clear milestones.
  • Assist in mentoring junior planning personnel and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in scheduling/planning within the construction or related industry.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and other scheduling software, including logic and critical path analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), and earned value principles.
  • Experience with resource loading, progress tracking, and performance variance analysis.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, cost management, change control, and risk management.
  • Ability to develop detailed project plans, staffing schedules, and progress reports.
  • Analytical skills and proficiency in scenario planning and schedule optimization.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for implementing, and overseeing the electrical systems and infrastructure required for hospital construction and renovation projects. This role involves ensuring the reliability, safety, and compliance of all electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency backup systems, and medical-grade electrical systems. The Senior Electrical Engineer will collaborate with project stakeholders, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that all project milestones are met, and the hospital’s electrical systems are designed and installed to meet stringent healthcare standards.

This role requires an individual with strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and a thorough understanding of healthcare facility electrical requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering:
  • Review hospital electrical systems, including power distribution, emergency power, UPS, lighting, and critical equipment power supply.
  • Perform electrical load analysis, fault calculations, and ensure proper system sizing to meet hospital needs.
  • Develop specifications, drawings, and detailed plans for electrical infrastructure in accordance with local and international codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA 99, IEEE).
  1. Project Management:
  • Manage electrical aspects of hospital construction or renovation projects from conception to completion.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems seamlessly with other building systems.
  • Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  1. Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure electrical systems comply with hospital regulations, healthcare standards (e.g., NFPA, Joint Commission), and safety requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor installations and verify compliance with design specifications.
  1. Emergency Systems:
  • Oversee installation of critical backup systems, such as emergency generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and UPS systems to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Verify system testing, commissioning, and performance under emergency conditions.


  1. Technical Leadership:
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, contractors, and maintenance teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical system issues during project execution.
  • Ensure timely and accurate project reporting and documentation.
  1. Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Work closely with medical equipment planners, facility managers, and construction teams to ensure electrical systems meet the requirements of specialized medical equipment and clinical operations.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand operational needs and incorporate solutions into the design.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10 years + of work experience
  • Successfully handed over a Medium-High Scale Hospital
  • Experience in hospital infrastructure, including power distribution, medical-grade systems, emergency systems, and energy efficiency strategies
  • Strong understanding of hospital power redundancy, critical power systems, and medical equipment electrical requirements
  • Certifications in healthcare facility electrical systems (e.g., NFPA 99, NEC compliance) are a plus.
