1. Unrestricted Challenge Officer

About the Role:

Save the Children is seeking an Officer (“Unrestricted Challenge Officer”) for the two-year UnrestrICTed Challenge funded by All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development, a partnership between the United States Agency for International Development, World Vision, and the Australian Government. The objective of the UnrestrICTed Challenge is to benefit children with disabilities through literacy, language, and learning support grounded in Universal Design for Learning at home and at school. The UnrestrICTed Officer is responsible for contributing to the development, delivery, and reporting of high-quality and innovative activities under Save the Children’s scope of work.




Qualifications and experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field is a requirement.
  • Minimum of two years experience with progressively increasing responsibility in managing and implementing education and inclusion programs.
  • At least two years of proven experience in activities with projects of similar size and scope.
  • Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English preferred.
  • Familiarity with EdTech solutions, community libraries, and inclusion actors in Rwanda.
  • Willingness to work in resource poor environment and be culturally sensitive.
  • Ability to produce reports in English.
  • Ability to work in remote areas.
  • Computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams).

The objective of the UnrestrICTed Challenge is to benefit children with disabilities through literacy, language, and learning support grounded in Universal Design for Learning at home and at school. The UnrestrICTed Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, and reporting of high quality and innovative activities under Save the Children’s scope of work. The UnrestICTed Coordinator is responsible for engagement with eKitabu, Uwezo Youth Empowerment, and other consoritum members. The UnrestrICTed Challenge Coordinator supervises the UnrestrICTed Challenge Officer.
