Project Facilitator (Profuturo –UNHCR)

Fixed-term contract (Till December 31, 2026)

World Vision is a child-focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programmes in 30 Districts of Rwanda. Our interventions in the strategic period of 2026-2030 seek to reach 2.5 million of the most vulnerable children. This is done through programming in Child Protection, Education, Nutrition and WASH, and Poverty Alleviation (Resilience and Livelihoods).

World Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated, and experienced Rwandan national for the role of Project Facilitator (Profuturo –UNHCR), joining an established and experienced team. This stimulating position incorporates a range of skills and development in multiple areas, allowing for an exciting opportunity for career growth in a dynamic, global organization. It will be based in Mahama Refugee Camp, Rwanda, and will report to the UNHCR/ProFuturo project coordinator.



Purpose of the position:

Facilitate the implementation of ProFuturo project activities in the identified schools hosting refugee students and ensure they fully benefit. The job holder will contribute to achieving WVR’s Child Well-being through planning, monitoring and implementing projects in line with applicable Technical Approaches and content based on MINEDUC & REB standards in the promotion of ICT4E.

Planning and Implementation:

  • Responsible for ProFuturo project planning and implementation in the targeted districts/clusters and/or refugee camp schools.
  • Work collaboratively with the education sector to achieve a great impact.
  • Integrate project activities with other sectors and with the district Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP)& Competency Based Curriculum (CBC);
  • Meeting with the head teachers and/or the school responsible for the equipment to check the Project development and any possible incidents to ensure the safety of the equipment.
  • Participate in any meeting which may be conducted by head teachers in relation to the project.
  • Do an equipment review to ensure the use and performance of all the devices.
  • Facilitate Platform users´ registration, classes and content setting on the platform
  • Provide Internet connectivity to teachers’ laptops to send data and receive updates, using the existing network connectivity or USB cellular connections
  • Conduct on-site tests with teachers and students.

Capacity building 

  • Coordinate and support the schools during the project implementation and provide regular coaching and mentorship to the school head teachers and teachers.
  • Conduct the process of deep training in the issues of the Project, such as technology, tools, methodology and contents, as well as the different processes.
  • Face-to-face meetings with teachers with special difficulties on the use of the platform, specific training and problem-solving
  • Based on the results of the platform, implement additional training for teachers on specific functionalities that they may find harder to use.
  • Train new teachers on board and facilitate initial training for teachers joining the Project.
  • Coaching and mentoring teachers in ICT4E initiatives for the targeted schools
 Head teachers and teachers have the right skills to implement the project Head teachers and responsible teachers are able to identify the gaps that need to be addressed Teachers and Head teachers have the capacity to handle the issues related to the implementation of the project New teachers acquire the skills to implement the project

Monitoring and Evaluation, Learning and Reporting

  • Review the working calendar to monitor how different teachers are using the equipment and to guarantee its functionality.
  • Ensure effective documentation of all the information related to the project successes, innovations and promising practices and disseminate through appropriate mechanisms.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports based on Profuturo´s template
  • Produce timely, accurate, and quality reports for mandatory government reports.
  • Gather insight about how the platform is used in the field and suggest design improvements to the Profuturo project
 Proper utilization and functionality of the equipment is regularly monitored Proper documentation of the success stories and best practices is done regularly Monthly and quarterly reports are done in a timely manner Mandatory government reports are produced in a timely and accurate manner Lessons learnt are provided to inform improvement in the project.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional Experience
  • 3 years’ experience working with education projects
  • Experience in conducting teacher trainings
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring teachers in ICT4E initiatives
Required Education,training, license,registration, andcertification
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or information and communication technology (ICT). If a foreign institution issues the degree, an equivalence certificate from the Rwanda Higher Education Council (HEC) will be required)
  • Should be computer literate in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to facilitate the implementation of a project for the improvement of basic education through ICT.
  • Must be a quick learner for new ICT4E initiatives
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively implement ICT for Education to improve the quality of education.
  • Strong skills in networking with education sector stakeholders at the district, sector and cluster levels.
  • Ability to address issues related to the equipment, platform, network and the contents.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate the ability of coaching and mentoring teachers in ICT4E initiatives
Travel and/orWork EnvironmentRequirement The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 100% of the time since he/she is community-based.
