Background:
KT Rwanda Networks, Ltd (“KTRN Ltd”) is a licensed company that has been incorporated under the laws and regulations of the Republic of Rwanda. The company is engaged in the business of providing & installing 4G LTE advanced technology within Rwanda.
In order to effectively accomplish its business objectives, KTRN Ltd is looking for 1 qualified and competent candidate to fill the vacant position below:
Position: Senior Database Administrator (1):
Core job responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, administer all databases (Oracle/MS SQL/ MySQL/Maria DB) Ensuring the availability
- Installation, configuration and upgrading of database server software and related product
- Monitor systems and platforms for availability
- Participate in the design and development of new applications that fully implement business requirements.
- Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
- Restore and recover corrupted databases
- Design of PL/SQL scripts that can serve different purpose
- Ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correct
- Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, Indexes, Views, sequences, packages and procedures
- Implement, maintain, enforces database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and related products
- Support Business applications.
- Plan database related growth and changes (capacity planning)
- Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing and production usage.
- Hands-on experience coding in more than one currently popular general purpose programming languages Java, C#, PHP and scripting languages such as Python, Unix/Linux bash is an added value.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field
- 5 years of working in experience of relevant skills in this field
- Operating System Administration skills
- Storage system skills
- In-depth knowledge of the telecom industry and multiple business functional areas
- Advanced interpersonal and communications skills
- Analytical skills
- Planning and organizing skills
