This role offers a unique opportunity to spearhead a team focused on navigating the intricate landscape of structured financial instruments. Your expertise will be pivotal in collecting, reviewing, and processing accounting and tax documents to prepare tax returns, state pages, and tax provision schedules, estimate quarterly payments, and file extensions.

Reporting to the Manager Financial Reporting and Analysis, the Senior Accountant, Tax, will be responsible for all tax and other legal deductions related matters within RSSB and you will provide Management with the necessary tax information for decision making.

The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) has the mandate to manage and promote social security in Rwanda. RSSB’s vision is to provide a comprehensive social security system that caters to the diverse social security needs of the population, RSSB plays an important role in realizing Vision 2050 and the National Strategy for Transformation (NST1). RSSB manages six social security schemes, namely: Pension, Occupational Hazards, Medical scheme, CBHI, Maternity Leave Benefits and EjoHeza (Long-term Term Saving Scheme).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Review and reconcile tax payments and advise on tax rectification if necessary
  2. Analyse, estimate, and advise on tax implications for operations of the institution
  3. Prepare and submit periodic and annual tax and other legal deductions reports
  4. Organise and update the institution’s tax database
  5. Recommend tax strategies that align with business goals
  6. Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes
  7. Facilitate sharing of tax related information within the Finance department including but not limited to new directives by government, tax planning circulars as well other related information
  8. Liaise with internal and external auditors on tax related matters
  9. Perform any other duties related to Financial Reporting and Analysis function as may be assigned from time to time


Key Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must have at least:

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce with at least 2 years’ experience

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce with at least 4 years’ experience

The position is based in Kigali, Rwanda and applicants must be willing to relocate outside their countries of domicile.
