Scholarships of Chester for Master’s Students in United Kingdoms 2021
Application details
Five Master’s Scholarships of £4,000 each, funded through the Santander Universities agreement with the University, are available annually to full-time taught postgraduate students at Chester. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and to support widening participation to graduates of institutions in the Santander Universities network within the UK, Latin America, Portugal or Spain.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a Scholarship, students must:
- have accepted an offer of admission to a one year, full time taught postgraduate programme in any subject;
- on admission to the University of Chester, be a graduate of one of the eligible institutions in the Santander Universities scheme (see below).
Application procedure and selection criteria
To apply, students must complete a Masters Scholarship application form. All Scholarships have now been allocated for 2020/21 and no further applications are being accepted. Details of any 2021/22 scholarships will be posted in the spring.
The selection of the Scholars will be made by a panel chaired by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research & Knowledge Transfer) and details of selected Scholars will be forwarded to Santander Universities for information. Applications will be judged on two criteria:
- academic quality of the applicant;
- potential for the applicant to benefit from the Scholarship, particularly in relation to widening participation.
All those unsuccessful applications submitted by eligible applicants meeting the quality criteria thresholds will be held on a waiting list and if any Scholarships remain vacant after September 2020 these applications will be considered at any time until 8 December 2020.
