Project Manager – Commercial Building Construction
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of commercial building construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent project management abilities, and a thorough understanding of construction processes. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining a focus on safety and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage commercial building construction projects from inception to completion.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the project team and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or delays.
- Manage project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is being performed according to specifications and safety standards.
- Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates on project status, milestones, and any changes to the scope or timeline.
- Resolve conflicts or disputes that may arise during the course of the project, maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and permits throughout the construction process.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the final product meets or exceeds client expectations.
- Oversee project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch lists, and client handover.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in commercial building construction, and structural Engineering with a minimum of 7 Years of relevant experience.
- Proven records in managing construction project larger than 3Billion RWF
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, Procore, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
- PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
