Your role

As a Software Tester at Deriv.com, you will engage in quality control throughout the product development lifecycle of all our products, services, and systems. You will help come up with test plans and ensure their execution on each stage, from planning until release. We process over a million transactions per day, and we need you to help deliver the best version of every product, fully optimised, free from bugs, and polished for client utilisation.

Your challenges

  • Perform high-quality automated and manual tests on the Deriv.com website, applications, backend infrastructure, and related systems.
  • Collaborate closely with the rest of the QA and IT teams to create, design, and run several types of testing based on different objectives.
  • Integrate various types of testing into our existing workflows, both internal and external.
  • Ensure the integrity of releases by coordinating testing procedures and activities.
  • Track and keep a detailed record of every bug that you discover.
  • Identify, document, and investigate issues reported by our clients and the Client Support team.
  • Replicate reported issues and work with our IT teams to find the root cause, understand the problem, and help come up with solutions.

 What you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of technical education, training, and work experience
  • Ability to write high-quality, self-documenting code using test-driven development techniques
  • Minimum of two years experience in a software or web application testing role
  • Experience in designing and executing test plans (both automated and manual)
  • Experience with agile development methods such as Scrum or Kanban

Job profile

– At least five (5) years of prior work experience in projects related to Gender equality and women empowerment, family promotion and child protection;
– At least 10 years of experience in project planning and management with a proven record of managing donor funded projects;
– Specialized trainings on sexual reproductive health and rights and gender
– based violence is an asset;
– Previous experience working with projects financed by international organizations would be an asset;
– A proven experience working /collaborating with national public institutions, multilateral institutions and bi
– lateral donors;
– Being familiar with civil society organizations in Rwanda especially those intervening in family promotion, gender equality promotion, child protection and Gender Based violence;

This scholarship program aims to increase opportunities in STEM for girls and women. How to apply for the scholarship?

You can only apply for this scholarship after you have been fully accepted to UTC and have received your acceptance letter with your UTCID.


STEP 1: Complete your international undergraduate application at utc.edu/apply, pay the $30 application fee, and provide all required documents. Receive your acceptance letter and UTCID.

STEP 2: Complete the “Why UTC?” project. See below for more details.

STEP 3: Submit your online Scholarship Application Form.

STEP 4: All submissions will undergo a review process. If you are selected, you will receive a scholarship to help you pay your tuition and university fees. The scholarship will be deposited into your student account in two installments: one in the fall semester and one in the spring.

The Center for Global Education will appoint a selection committee to review the applications. The submissions will be evaluated based on the application content and whether eligibility requirements have been fulfilled. The following factors may be taken into consideration: TOEFL or IELTS scores, on-campus residency, Go Global Themed Living Community membership, and your “Why UTC?” project.

Who is eligible to receive the scholarship?

  • International first-time freshmen who have completed their UTC international undergraduate application and received an acceptance letter with a UTCID are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • UTC defines international students as F-1 visa applicants/holders.
  • International students who are currently recipients of other scholarships are NOT eligible for the UTC International Undergraduate Student Scholarship.
  • Students must maintain active F-1 status in order to receive the second installment of the scholarship.
  • Students must be registered for at least 12 credit hours. Students who are placed on a reduced course load are NOT eligible to receive the second installment of the scholarship.
  • Students whose records indicate Code of Conduct violations or Honor Code violations will NOT be eligible to receive the scholarship.
  • Students must earn a minimum 2.5 GPA during their first semester at UTC to receive the second installment of the scholarship.
  • During their first semester at UTC, students must participate in extracurricular activities organized by the Center for Global Education and provide a multimedia or written report by the end of November. The activities may include International Tea Time, Global Spotlight, International Education Week, International Buddy program events, CGE field trips, etc. The details of this assignment will be announced in the scholarship award letter.

“Why UTC?” project

Legacy Scholarship Program (Alumni)

Award: 150% of In-State Tuition (automatic)

The Legacy Scholarship program, which began Fall of 2011, allows nonresident children and grandchildren of alumni to attend PSU for 150 percent of the resident tuition. The program is available for full-time undergraduate students enrolling at PSU for the first time and who meet the program criteria.

The duration of the award will be up to eight semester of undergraduate study. Students in the program must maintain a 2.50 GPA in work completed at PSU.

International Advocate Scholarship

Award: $1,000 (renewable)

The International Advocate Scholarship is a service based scholarship. The recipient of this scholarship is required to perform some hours in promoting international programs. This scholarship is NOT available to incoming international students. Only international students who have completed one regular semester at Pittsburg State University with a CGPA 3.25 may apply for this scholarship. EarthEnable addresses this pressing and ubiquitous problem by selling high-quality, earthen floors that are 80% cheaper than concrete with 90% less embedded energy. Earthen floors are already prevalent in modern homes in the United States and are composed of natural materials (gravel, clay, sand, and laterite). EarthEnable trains and hires local masons to install the floors which are sealed using a proprietary drying oil that makes them waterproof, strong, and polished. In our first 5 years of operations, EarthEnable has installed ~8,000 floors for ~35,000 individuals and employed over 500 staff.

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and gritty Chief Operating Officer who is excited to build a fast- growing and high-impact organization alongside a passionate and hard-working team. The Chief Operating Officer would have both a strategy and execution role. She or he would develop strategy alongside the CEO, manage and coach the Managing Directors of each country (which entails visiting district teams and customers for 3-4 days/week), gather and analyze operational data, oversee our finance and data systems, and be a critical thought partner to the CEO and Board. We are looking for a leader who can take us to the next level and beyond. The main responsibilities would include:

Manage Business Operations

  • Work with Managing Directors to develop country strategies, set quarterly objectives and targets, and support them in meeting these objectives

I.    JOB SUMMARY 

The Communications Specialist reports directly to the Country Director (CD).  He/she receives guidelines from the Marketing and Communications Team at Right To Play Headquarters. The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing the communication plan and activities in the country of operation. He/she also supports advocacy and fundraising efforts at the Country Office. He/she is expected to assist in enhancing the organization’s overall public image in the country. The Communications Specialist also contributes to the global programmatic work of RTP by collecting and developing multimedia content that communicates the impact of our programs in the respective country for use in RTP’s global donor and mass-market communications. The incumbent works closely with the Program Manager, the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Specialist, and the Global Marketing and Communications team.

 Planning and compliance

  • Develops and implements an annual communications plan, in line with the country office plan and the needs of program funders and global communications.
  •  Provides leadership for overall communications related to RTP in the respective country.
  •  Ensures that all communications materials and messages are in-line with project grant agreements and donor requirements.
  •  Ensures that all communications are aligned with the RTP brand and advances the understanding of the organization’s mission and impact.
  •  Conducts field visits to project sites and ensures proper collection and dissemination of information for events and success stories
  •  Ensures proper documentation of communications materials.
  • Conducts ongoing review of the country communications plan and communications components of country action and strategic plans to ensure compliance; identifies gap areas and recommends solutions.
  • Ensures RTP Country promotion of various International “Days” such as Child Day, Diabetes Day are in-line with national strategy and behavioural and social goals.
  •  Facilitates relationship building with, and field visits by, VIPs including donors, key stakeholders, Athlete Ambassadors/Supporters, national and international media, global staff, and international consultants working for RTP in the respective country.
  • Plays a key role in the development and dissemination of behaviour change communication messages and social mobilization campaigns.
  •   Ensures compliance with RTP brand book, RTP Policies (including, in particular, the RTP Child Safeguarding policy), other policies related to communications, and any relevant government legislation.

  • Creates compelling photo, video, and written collateral and content that communicates RTP’s work and impact.

  • Develops a system to produce success stories, quotes, and photographs of teachers, coaches, and children in our programs;
  • Oversees photo, video, and message archiving in the respective Country
  •  Develops informational and promotional material on RTP projects.
  • Trains country team on the value and usage of the brand.
  • Creates and edits designs for communications materials and liaises with printing and design companies to see them realised.
  •  Oversees and approves all print proofs in the country before being printed including T-shirts and documents

Media and public relations

  • Under the guidance and direction of the respective Country Director coordinates media relations in-country to raise awareness of RTP programs and impacts, and the issues affecting the children we serve.
  •  Closely monitors and tracks media coverage for RTP, play-based learning, and sport for development in the country.
  • Establishes contacts with media and writes media releases and success stories.
  •  Conducts media development activities in the country to build the capacity of local media to advocate for the importance of play-based learning in protecting, educating, and empowering children.
  •  Promotes partnerships across RTP and beyond, and represents RTP on all relevant communications networks in the respective country.
  •  Accompanies and supports visitors to the respective country when delegated, including planning and organizing itineraries in conjunction with RTP colleagues and partners.
  •   Works with the Global Marketing and Communications team and the Country Office team to develop and implement a media relations strategy for any high-profile visit to the country including preparing background materials and relevant packages.

V.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Must have)

(A) EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or any related field

 (B)      EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years’ experience with I/NGOs in the country of operation in a communications role.
  • Experience of media relations and developing communication plans and material.
  • Experience working with a global team
  • Experience with graphic design

 (C) COMPETENCIES / PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
