Job Description

The Public Health Emergency Management Coordinator will be responsible to:
• Assume overall coordination for managing the preparedness and response of potential public health emergencies
• Coordinate all Incident Management System functions (IMS)
• Establish priorities, approve objectives, and the Incident Action Plan (IAP).
• Communicate with the Director General of RBC and other relevant high-level officials on prevention strategies to be taken regarding public health emergencies.
• Maintain overall situational reporting to senior organizational leadership and getting direction from senior leadership on the preparedness and response of public health emergencies
• Ensure resource are mobilized to respond to public health emergencies
• Ensure all relevant positions needed to support the preparedness and response are filled and PHEOC tasks coordinated
• Liaise with assisting agencies and cooperating agencies




Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health

    1 Year of relevant experience

  • Master’s degree in Epidemiology

    1 Year of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in general medecine

    1 Year of relevant experience

  • master’s degree in Field Epidemiology and Laboratory management

    1 Year of relevant experience

POSITION SUMMARY

Prepare special meals or substitute items. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator. Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish. Maintain food logs. Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared. Communicate assistance needed during busy periods. Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials. Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items. Ensure the quality of the food items. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods.




Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Reporting to the Cereal Program Coordinator Senior Principal Research Fellow, the maize breeder research fellow has the following responsibilities

– Conduct breeding research on maize crop and technology transfer of innovations from the breeding work on the crop;
– Develop and submit winning research project proposal for presentation to local and international research partners and donors;
– Collaborate with other Scientists in RAB on the in their regular activities including in the collection of raw materials, laboratory work and in writing reports and publications;
– Collaborate with other researchers, locally, regionally and internationally on maize breeding;
– Participate in meetings, seminars, conferences relevant to field of research and bring visibility of RAB in local and international fora;
– Ensure mentorship for junior scientists in maize breeding;
– Provide training to farmers and extension agents on improved agricultural practices;
– Analyze, disseminate research findings and publish peer reviewed journals, scientific conferences, books and book chapters, and extension materials;
– Prepare and submit quarterly and annual reports on research activities conducted;
– Provide training to farmers and extension agents on improved agricultural practices;
– Ensure adequate management of resources under his or her responsibilities;
– Perform any other duty given by the Cereal Program Coordinator or RAB Management.

In this new role and working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of AIMS Global Network will be responsible for operationalizing the AIMS strategy and implementing daily operations, aligned with the strategy.  The COO will spearhead the cohesive management of key operational functions including Operations, Procurement and Information Technology & Digital Services,facilities, transportation, travels and payables.

Leading a diverse team of up to 10 senior and middle managers (with direct or dotted reporting lines), and in collaboration with a variety of internal and external contacts, across multiple geographical and cultural lines, the COO will oversee the smooth integration and implementation of departmental policies and practices network wide.

You are known for your ability to establish, nurture and maintain effective relationships to affect and influence change and you have a particular strength to articulate your thoughts both verbally and in writing.  As a member of the senior leadership team, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the organization and, be an exemplary model to foster a culture of excellence as an ambassador of the vision, mission and values. Additionally, you will Identify, develop, and manage teams to implement operational process improvements to ensure high organizational efficiency and effectiveness and work in partnership with the finance team to implement tight financial controls to reduce wasteful spending and align AIMS resources to the organizational priorities.

Do you have what we need?

  • Master’s Degree in Business or Public Administration
  • 10+ years of experience in managing teams in a medium to large international setting, ideally as part of a global network
  • Accumulated local, regional and international experience in corporate business or international NGOs work in managerial positions
  • Experience and understanding of organizational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Experience and knowledge of standards required in working with and managing donor funds
  • A proven record of developing and professionalizing start-up organizations with expertise in finance, administration, information technology and people leadership
  • A consummate diplomat with the drive to innovate and lead change with a collaborative spirit
  • A proven ability to manage, motivate, and mentor staff at all levels and create a positive team environment
  • Superb relationship management skills to lead, manage and interact with a diverse team of professionals
  • An influential communicator with strong verbal, writing and presentation skills
  • Strong English language skills; French language skills, a desirable asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Internet applications (SharePoint, Skype, Gmail, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the political, social, economic and cultural context of working in Africa

Procurement Manager!

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement aspects of AIMS. Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Procurement Manager is instrumental in supporting AIMS activities through his/her services including quality control, expediting and material control, examining existing procedures and opportunities to streamline activities to limit costs and improving accuracy. S/He will conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to AIMS and not to jeopardize its mission.

As the Procurement and Logistics Manager, you will conduct source audit exercises through supplier selection, evaluation, and assessment. Prepare Consolidated Annual Procurement Plan, ensure Goods, Works and services are procured timely to facilitate Programs implementation and at the same time receiving value for money, ensure vendors follow all the tendering regulations, procedures and instructions, ensure orders are accurately drawn with the correct specification, quantity, qualities and delivery requirements, review all request and purchase orders for completeness and conformance to user requirements, maintain thorough procurement files and ensure that the procurement filing system is in place and in accordance with the Procurement filing procedures as outlined in the organization’s policies and procedures and ensure effective implementation of AIMS Procurement Policies and procedures

Do you have what we need?

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Management/Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain Management or Business related field. MBA is preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years in Procurement and Logistics,
  • Excellent computer skills,
  • Demonstrated ability in supervision,
  • Experience in working with donor funds,
  • Working knowledge of procurement services and practices is an added advantage,
  • Good planning and organizational skills,
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and suppliers,
  • Be prepared to work outside of normal working hours due to the geographic spread of the Centre Programs and the 24/7 learning environment offered as academic institution.
