Job description

Plans daily classroom work based on teaching outline prepared for course of study to meet curriculum requirements(Ibidanago)

• Assesses and Critiques performances to identify errors, reinforces correct techniques and writes reports

• Sings and plays instrument to demonstrate comprehensive aural and practical skills

• Provide weekly lessons to students with a balanced program of techniques, repertoires and music skills.

• Prepare students to take theoretical and practical examinations when required.

• Communicate with parents, teachers and Principal Director as required.

• Work with SCAM to organize and supervise internships, concerts and other school events.

• Teaches history of music as outlined by the curriculum

• Keep updated about current educational trends

• Must understand SCAM’s Mission Statement, Values, and Objectives and be willing to incorporate them when performing job
– related tasks.

• Working knowledge of All DAW’s found today but especially Avid Pro
– Tools Software, effective methods and strategies

• Must show evidence of ability to use appropriate and effective class room management methods

• Having an Incredible attitude and joy for sharing your skills to grow others

• Teaching schedule may include weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends depending upon school needs

• Creates an atmosphere of teamwork and commitment.




Job profile

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION: A1 Arts, Music, Equivalent in music education, or courses to meet requirements Key technical skills and knowledge:
– At least 3 years of experience in teaching in the field of speciality and /or 3years Experience in Music TVET system;
– Exceptional teaching skills/experience;
– Having a positive role model for students, staff and parents in every respect;
– Encourage and develop confidence in students with patience;
– Preferably has Sight Reading Skills; Past Experience of running bands or ensembles may be advantageous; The Ability to play and/or teach a second instrument may be advantageous; Has the ability to accompany rehearsals and concerts; Must be able to play in different genres and styles; Having experience to oversee all aspects of a recording session; Having a keen ear and keeping up with the latest songs and recording artists; Being able to bring out the best in recording artists; Knowing recording industry law and ethics.
