Job Summary:
The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee on-site execution and supervision of mechanical installations for construction projects. This includes HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems. The role ensures that mechanical works meet design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The Mechanical Supervisor will work closely with contractors, site engineers, and project teams to ensure high-quality execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision:
- Supervise and monitor the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring alignment with project drawings and specifications.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality, progress, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams to maintain smooth workflow.
Coordination and Communication:
- Work closely with MEP teams and other disciplines to address on-site challenges and ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Communicate progress, issues, and resolutions to the project management team.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure mechanical works meet relevant standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local codes.
- Inspect materials and equipment delivered to the site to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
Testing and Commissioning:
- Assist in testing, balancing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Verify that installations meet performance and safety criteria before handover.
Risk and Safety Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with mechanical installations.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols on-site, conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings as necessary.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of mechanical works, including progress reports, inspection logs, and certifications.
- Maintain daily logs of site activities, including progress reports and issues encountered.
- Support the preparation of as-built drawings and handover documentation.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical supervision, preferably in the construction industry.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Knowledge of standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local regulations.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and supervise work accordingly.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
