A. POSITION: Laboratory Technician in Agriculture Mechanization CAVM
B. POST LEVEL: 5.II
C. NUMBER OF POST: 1
D. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Technical Supporting
To conduct laboratory tests and analysis
To prepare practical work for students
To curry out risk assessment for lab activities
To collect and analyze samples
To record and present data
To control lab stock
To safely keep chemicals and waste products
Serves as the overall person in charge of laboratory administration
Reporting to the head of department on the issues relating to laboratory requirements.
Ensure the cleanliness of the laboratory, including appropriate restocking of the lab and its storage area.
Prepare purchase orders for equipment and supplies required for practical classes.
Assist an instructor in supervising a laboratory.
Assist students with their experiments, projects and research, act as a resource person to instructors and students.
Maintain records of student billings for breakages.
Take and maintain student laboratory attendance records
Perform routine and analytical determinations; solve problems and do research as needed.
Assist staff in the use and operation of equipment.
Prepare demonstrations and laboratory set-ups.
2. Lab maintenance
To ensure maintenance and cleaning of laboratory materials.
E. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of the work practices processes and procedures relevant to the Laboratory activities .
2.Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills
3. Flexible and adaptive with a positive approach to change.
4. Background in General Mechanics or A2 Motor vehicle mechanics, Experience of workshop machinery and equipment, electrical work, or carpentry.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2 Years of relevant experience
