Akagera Management Company (AMC) is seeking a suitable candidate for the positions of IT Officer at Akagera National Park. The candidate must be technically skilled with good problem-solving ability. The duties of an IT Officer include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user levels, responding to user needs in a timely manner, and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.

IT Officer is expected to display good interpersonal skills, as he will interact with colleagues from various departments and at executive levels. IT Officer will be required to listen to their technical needs and provide the necessary support.




Duties and Responsibilities of Conservation Technology Manager

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, scanners, etc.
  • Maintain high-quality function of office LAN, Internet, and printer sharing as needed
  • Running a regular check on the network and data security
  • Implementing security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
  • Performed on-site troubleshooting/repair of defective/damaged hardware.
  • Documenting processes, as well as backing up and archiving data.
  • Ensuring data storage is safe and secure.
  • Provided technical support to staff on the operational or maintenance aspects of IT equipment.
  • Performing tests and evaluations on new software and hardware and other technologies.
  • Provide IT advice and solution as required for effective office functioning
  • Assisting in conservation-related technologies

Suitable candidates for the position of Information Technology(IT) Officer must meet the following criteria:

  • A Degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or any IT related Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in IT, computer networks and systems maintenance or relevant field
  • Knowledge of office 365 is a must
  • Email setups – knowing the difference between Pop3 and Exchange
  • Server background
  • Fluent in English and/or French/Kinyarwanda
  • Not afraid of heights and willing to climb towers
  • Analytical mindset and strong ability to prioritize
  • Prepared to live onsite
  • Between 20 and 40 years of age.
  • Rwandan and from the region
  • Proven record in maintaining IT Structural integrity
  • Ability to transfer knowledge efficiently
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Clean Driving license (Category B)
