1.Consultant/ Field Officer

TITLE: Consultant/ Field Officer (1 Position)

REPORTS TO: AKA Team Leader

JOB LOCATION: Kigali, Bugesera, Rulindo and Rwamagana

CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 Months

About AKA:

AKA is a registered National Non-Government Organization (NGO) operating under the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) certificate No 66/RGB/NGO/2016. AKA’s mission is providing Rwandan youth with employability skills, capital, and support to take advantage of economic opportunities.

Currently, AKA is implementing multiple donor’s projects.

DUTIES

The consultant/field officer will work under AKA Team Leader to undertake tasks related to youth trainings.

Essential functions include [but not limited to]:

  • Collaborate with youth centers in youth selection
  • Support to conduct literacy & numeracy assessment
  • Conduct field monitoring and coaching activities
  • Conduct final assessment administration to the youth
  • Assure quality of methodology (through trainer observation)
  • Support and coach youth trainers
  • Participate in other activities (training of trainers, project meetings, events…)
  • Prepare project plans and reports (Weekly, Monthly)
  • Other duties as asked by the supervisor

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in social sciences, management, and other related fields
  • Proven experience in field monitoring activities
  • Having at least 3 years in youth training and coaching
  • Having an entrepreneurship and/or soft skills is an added advantage
  • Strong communication, writing, and reporting skills

2.E-lesson writer/ Materials Development Officer

TITLE: E-lesson writer/ Materials Development Officer (2 Positions)

REPORTS TO: Materials Development Coordinator

LOCATION: Kigali, Rwanda

CONTRACT LENGTH: One year contract

DUTIES

The E-lesson writer/ Materials Development Officer will work under AKA Material Development Coordinator to undertake tasks related to e-lesson writing. S/he will work with AKA technical team and partner staff to write e-lesson scripts in English.

 Essential functions include [but not limited to]:

  • Work closely with the technical team and collaborating organizations to conceptualize learning materials
  • Develop and review learning materials (e-lesson scripts content) for the technology team to develop interactive online learning sessions
  • Work collaboratively with the technical team, content experts, materials development specialists, and others to review, revise, and improve learning materials
  • Able to prepare and conduct training of TVET trainers
  • Support in coaching of TVET trainers on the use of e-learning materials;
  • Support in monitoring of activities in TVET schools;
  • Creativity and imagination to come up with a scenario or an idea.
  • Assist in preparing consolidated project progress reports
  • Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven work experience in technical and vocational education
  • Experience in coaching TVET trainers
  • Experienced with Competence Based Training (CBT);
  • Excellent language and writing skills (English).
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
  • Strong communication skills in English;
  • Flexible to cope with ideas from the team to improve, review/rewrite scripts
  • Time-management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Typing skills using Microsoft Word for the development of scripts.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

3.Audiovisual Production & Video Script Writer

TITLE: Audiovisual Production & Video Script Writer (1 Position)

REPORTS TO: Materials Development Coordinator

DUTIES

The Audiovisual Production & Video Script Writer will work under AKA Team Leader to undertake tasks related to Materials Audio/Video production of the project. S/he will work with AKA technical team and partner staff in the design, editing of audio/video materials in partnership with other project staff and ensure accurate and quality audio/video materials are produced.

Essential functions include [but not limited to]:

  • Manipulate and edit video/audio pieces effectively
  • Develop written materials (e-lesson scripts) to guide video and audio production
  • Review video scripts and materials to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
  • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the audio/video
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
  • Direct videos production
  • Assist in preparing consolidated project progress reports
  • Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as an audio/video Producer and/or editor
  • Solid experience working with audio/video editing software. Experience in producing the instructional materials (videos, audios, animations, simulations)
  • Experience with video/audio script development
  • Demonstrable audio/video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity
  • Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in audiovisual production related field
  • Strong communication skills
  • Three years of experience working in audio/video editing
