EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (A0) in Biomedical engineering
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of working experience in related field in a hospital setting.
- Must be registered with the relevant professional health body.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES.
- Proven skills in the use database and information management
- Proven computer literacy, including MSWord, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Proven skills in report writing and presentation.
- Excellent knowledge of legislation relating to medical related device management and associated health and safety legislation
- Proven ability to carry out risk assessments

- Develop, administer, and ensure compliance with quality assurance measures, and monitor and enforce Joint Commission accreditation standards and other applicable standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement adherence to biomedical engineering practices and general departmental policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of repair services and operations.
- Ensure accurate and efficient maintenance of department records and reports.
- Establish and implement equipment testing procedures.
- Establish and monitor work flow and assignments.
- Document and update the maintenance record for each medical equipment
- In conjunction with the BME Manager, Contact medical equipment service suppliers to resolve problems with equipment operation; arrange for repair and parts replacement, recommend equipment purchases and standardization to supervisor.
- Maintain professional growth through appropriate training, seminars, workshops, conferences, and related activities.
- Provide an inspection and preventive maintenance (IPM) schedule to all clinical departments.
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all medical equipment in their responsible area and update accordingly.
