- Job Title: Ground Equipment Support Technician
- Reports to: Mechanical Workshop Supervisor
- Department: Maintenance & Engineering
- Duty Station: Kigali International Airport (KIA)
Job Purpose
The Ground Equipment Support Technician reports to the Mechanical Workshop Supervisor and is responsible for the conduct of maintenance on all ground support equipment tasks used by workshop technicians or line maintenance engineers. The ground equipment support Technician is responsible for ensuring maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with the OEM and WB internal maintenance procedures for the equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting maintenance tasks and ensuring that maintenance is conducted in accordance with referenced approved technical data;
- Accomplishing allocated maintenance tasks;
- Utilizing appropriate equipment, tools and technical data required for the conduct of maintenance tasks;
- Preparing strip-down reports for components forwarded to workshops for repair;
- Reporting safety hazards and occurrences;
- Participate in audits conducted by internal and external parties;
- Recording of all maintenance conducted on appropriate checklists and forms before the components are released to service;
- Ensuring a clean and orderly work environment;
- Providing appropriate release to service after accomplishment of maintenance tasks.
Desired Profile: Required education, Experience, and Abilities
- Have experience in any mechanical workshop facilities
- Have at least one of the following qualifications:
- Have completed an apprenticeship or On the Job Training program
- Have a diploma in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical technology; Mechatronics technology, Electro-Mechanical technology or Auto-Mechanics.
- Have the following knowledge:
- Procedures related to workshop maintenance;
- Computer and system analytical skills.
