Mountain Ceramics Company Ltd is Ceramic tiles manufacturing company that is currently setting up its manufacturing plant in Muhanga industrial park, in Southern Province, Muhanga District, Nyamabuye Sector with principal offices in Gacuriro, KL house, the fifth floor. The company seek to recruit an experienced geologist who has integrity and is results-oriented to join the company.
Job Description
Job Title: Geologist
Department: Raw materials Preparation department
Reports to: Production manager
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and explore the clay and its natural resources.
- Maintain the consistency during raw materials harvesting
- Make quarry process predictions based on previous harvesting done
- Interpret and report data collected from the field
- Prepare and Submit statutory reports on clay exploitation activities
- Ensure that the quarry operations are carried out in accordance with applicable health and safety standards, including standards necessary to protect the health and safety of the mining staffs
- Inform on timely basis taxes and duties in connection to prevailing licenses
- Conduct all required analysis (Geological survey, and necessary lab test for chemical,mechanical, technical and mineralogical analysis and mixing ration required) to ensure consistency in raw materials during harvesting, before using it and during processing
- Study the relationship between an organization’s projects, and its environmental impact and sustainability.
- Develop new methods for geological analysis and data collection with the least harmful environmental impact.
- Analyze geological, geochemical and geophysical data collected by tests and surveys.
- Manage sampling and reports from apprentice geologists and provide purposeful feedback and recommendations.
- Design topographical and geological maps.
- Learn innovative and modernized methods of geological work by attending workshops and courses.
- Manage and oversee contractors and their work and ensure that workers are compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Deliver pertinent feedback and insight into work projects to management through regular meetings. Conduct frequent training sessions with staff regarding investigations and data interpretation.
Mandatory requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Geology/Geoscience
- Atleast 3 years of experience in mining, environmental assessments and land development
- Adaptable to work in various environmental conditions
- Excellent knowledge of geology and geological factors of the specified location.
- Great technical ability to design mappings of geological data, and use geological databases and software.
- Excellent communication skills to work with management and staff
- Practical experience in collecting and analyzing geological information such as water, soil and rock data.
- Comply strictly with safety codes, standards and procedures.
- Ability to write accurate reports on data collection and analysis.
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
- Intuitive leader who displays accuracy and attention to detail.
- Abide by all federal, state and local laws related to geological work.
