Job responsibilities
1. Conduct a knowledge based analysis of scientific literature and databases related to various topics, including cancer biology, somatic variants, and related therapeutic clinical efficacy, including clinical trials; or genetic sequencing or detection of microbial pathogens, including clinical trials Works independently, utilizes resources available to maximize efficiency. 2. Work with technical team, bio-informaticists and information technology to enhance workflow efficiency and robustness. 3. Actively participate in training new employees. 4. Will be cross-trained to work in all areas of the Division. 5. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and guidance documents and ensures that compliance of standards is maintained. 6. Assist in the development and implementation of next-generation preparatory methods, new tests, procedures, and instrumentation with the help of Laboratory Directors, Analytical Specialists and technical support. 7. Develop, verify, write, and update procedures as necessary. 8. Analyze all sequencing data, including alignment, variant calling, copy number variation and annotation; and germline comparison, according to assay performance characteristics and bioinformatics pipeline. 9. Troubleshoot and assists in problem resolution. 10. Write interpretive clinical reports relevant to the patients’ molecular profile in a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments and College of American Pathologists compliant manner. 11. Delivers comprehensive evaluation of direct reports complete with development plans followed up by active coaching; ensures that staff under him/her are evaluated and developed.
