TITLE: E-lesson writer/ Materials Development Officer (2 Positions)
REPORTS TO: Materials Development Coordinator
LOCATION: Kigali, Rwanda
CONTRACT LENGTH: One year contract
About AKA:
AKA is a registered National Non-Government Organization (NGO) operating under the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) certificate No 66/RGB/NGO/2016. AKA’s mission is providing Rwandan youth with employability skills, capital, and support to take advantage of economic opportunities.
Currently, AKA is implementing multiple donor’s projects.
DUTIES
The E-lesson writer/ Materials Development Officer will work under AKA Material Development Coordinator to undertake tasks related to e-lesson writing. S/he will work with AKA technical team and partner staff to write e-lesson scripts in English.
Essential functions include [but not limited to]:
- Work closely with the technical team and collaborating organizations to conceptualize learning materials
- Develop and review learning materials (e-lesson scripts content) for the technology team to develop interactive online learning sessions
- Work collaboratively with the technical team, content experts, materials development specialists, and others to review, revise, and improve learning materials
- Able to prepare and conduct training of TVET trainers
- Support in coaching of TVET trainers on the use of e-learning materials;
- Support in monitoring of activities in TVET schools;
- Creativity and imagination to come up with a scenario or an idea.
- Assist in preparing consolidated project progress reports
- Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven work experience in technical and vocational education
- Experience in coaching TVET trainers
- Experienced with Competence Based Training (CBT);
- Excellent language and writing skills (English).
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
- Strong communication skills in English;
- Flexible to cope with ideas from the team to improve, review/rewrite scripts
- Time-management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Typing skills using Microsoft Word for the development of scripts.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
