Job responsibilities

– Knowledge of public health communicable disease control, planning and policy development, analyzing data, concise reporting, and surveillance of communicable diseases; – Knowledge of basic data analysis including bivariate and multivariate analysis (D); – Proven experience in designing and establishment of appropriate disease surveillance system with aptitude to work with electronic data management systems; – Knowledge of databases and use of epidemiological and statistical packages [such as Epi Info, Stata, SAS or SPSS] and GIS software such as Map Info, Instant Atlas etc.; – Knowledge of communicable disease epidemiology and surveillance; – Knowledge to develop measurable objectives, operational plans and measurable indicators/targets for public health programs and project; – Ability to synthesize scientific factors toward strategic decision making; – Knowledge and understanding of the Rwandan Health system; – Resource management skills; – Analytical skills; – Problem solving skills; – Decision making skills; – Networking skills; – Leadership skills; – Mentoring and coaching skills – Time management skills; – Risk management skills; – Performance management skills; – Results oriented; – Digital literacy skills; – Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/ or French. Knowledge of all is an added advantage.

    • Master’s degree in Epidemiology

    • Bachelor’s Degree in General medicine

  • Master’s degree in Laboratory with working experience in disease surveillance
