Job Description

 Provides leadership in managing access and maintaining accurate information about electronic resources.
 Coordinates the overall administration of the library’s electronic resources management system.
 Effectively communicates internally, with relevant departments, and externally, with vendors and publishers, on pricing, authentication requirements, access issues, record loads, or other needs that arise pertaining to electronic resources.
 Provides relevant statistical data and metrics, including usage and cost analysis, to support collection analysis and development decisions.
 Participates in the Libraries’ effort to track locally developed free electronic resources, such as local documents and born-digital publications.
 Participate in professional development, research, and service activities in order to meet the Libraries’ and University’s requirements for promotion.
 Undertake all aspects of the life cycle of e-resources, including coordination of the purchasing, licensing, access, and maintenance of all electronic materials.
 Contribute to the development of digital content for the IPRC.
facilities, digital content of Rwanda Polytechnic, and other international libraries services and manage e-library services.
 Support students and staff using library equipment and books on a daily basis.
 Assist Librarian with all library routine activities.
 Implement strategies that keep improving library procedures,
 Develop an accurate and timely library monitoring report
 Create and maintain records of institutional library catalogue, the cataloguing of new materials and Special collections not yet on the catalogue, library facilities and other printed or electronic resources
 Develop special library collections system
 Maintain and constantly update the research and academic documentation
 Enhance partnership with other libraries and Organizations related to academic resources
 Acquisition, Codify, classify, and catalogue books; publications, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard library classification systems
 Evaluate materials to determine outdated or unused items to be discarded
 Perform public relations work for the library, such as community talks.
 Maintain library safety and security
 Perform lending and borrowing services
 Provide necessary and needed information to Institutional authorities, library users and visitors
