Job Description

– Report to the Crop Processing and Food Quality Management Program Coordinator and has the following responsibilities:
– To conduct the development and the implementation of research in Crop Processing and Food Quality Management Innovation &Technology transfer
– Ensure mentorship for junior scientists in conception, planning, monitoring and evaluation in crop processing and Food Quality Management
– Ensure partnership with national, regional and international stakeholders on the development of crop processing activities
– Participate in monitoring and evaluation of disseminated technologies /innovations on crop processing activities
– Participate in the development and implementation of winning projects on crop processing activities
– To supervise, consolidate and produce technical and scientific reports
– Collaborate with other researchers in their regular activities namely collection of raw materials, laboratory work and in writing reports and publications
– Participate in meetings, seminars, conferences relevant to field of research and bring visibility of institute in local and international for a
– Prepare quarterly and annual reports on research activities carried out
– Generate outputs for post-harvest handling and processing (technologies, methods, and practices) targeting farmers
– Backstop/support extension and technology dissemination to stakeholders in crop processing
– Provide training to farmers and extension agents on crop processing
– To analyse, publish and disseminate research findings
– Ensure that the institution has and maintains a good reputation
– Perform any other duty as required by the competent authorities.

  • Advanced Diploma in Nutrition

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Sciences

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Microbiology

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Biochemistry

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Advanced diploma in Food Science

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Advanced diploma in Food Technology

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Advanced diploma in Food Biotechnology

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Advanced diploma in Food Microbiology

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Advanced diploma in Biochemistry

    10 Years of relevant experience
