Job description
Mission/ Core Purpose of the Job
Developing and executing strategies and programs aimed at engaging and understanding the youth market, such strategies that align with consumer trends, fostering brand loyalty among younger demographics, and driving business growth through targeted youth-oriented activities. Growing the youth product portfolio and overseeing the Go- To- Market to translate to acquisition, usage and retention of the youth on MTN hence growing Revenue and users.
Key Performance Areas
- Develop and implement an annual Youth Segment Marketing Roadmap Plan and Budget that ensures the achievement of MTN Rwanda’s Business Youth plan objectives for the Youth
- Analyze the market environment and undertake annual, quarterly, and monthly planning to ensure the effective implementation of the marketing mix (Price, Place, Promotion, Product and Processes).
- Create and maintain a dynamic and consistent positioning, image, and presence within the Youth Segment for MTN while conforming to MTN brand guidelines
- Identify and understand the consumer decision making process within the Youth
- Conceptualization and implementation of an end-to-end communication strategy which includes ATL (TV, print, radio and Digital) and BTL elements (merchandise, collateral, POS, promotions, and events) for the youth segment.
- Develop customer value propositions and products for the youth segment including product management, product development lifecycle and actions aimed at increasing users, engagement, usage and revenue among the youth.
- Manage MTN Rwanda’s youth products portfolio to optimize revenue and grow the overall profitability of existing product offerings that appeal to the youth.
- Through research, ensure that MTN Rwanda has an accurate, superior, and up-to-date understanding of youth consumption and lifestyle which informs the marketing mix decision trends for the youth.
- Monitor the local and international environment to identify new products and service opportunities that are relevant to the Youth
- Analyze the competitive environment, identify key issues, and advise appropriate marketing responses to mitigate or create MTN’s competitive edge over the competition.
- Provide relevant youth market insights to the overall department for strategy development.
- Constantly look out for new and upcoming trends within the youth and develop relevant digital products that match their needs and lifestyle.
- Continuously develop and propose new initiatives aimed at adding value to the business.
- Based on research insights to strengthen the segment performance.
- Monitoring and Reporting: track the performance of youth-focused initiatives using key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics tools
- Budget Management: seek opportunities for sponsorships or partnerships to support youth initiatives.
- Oversee the launch of new youth products and services in the market.
- Manage all reporting requirements for the youth segment related commercial KPIs.
- Coordinate all cross functional activities that directly or indirectly impact the segment’s product revenues.
- Improve youth segment engagement levels through targeted promotions and activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with youth influencers, schools, and community organizations to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
- Content Creation and Communication: Coordinate with the brand and communications team to ensure brand messaging aligns with youth interests and trends.
