Title: Commercial Director/Deputy General Manager

Reports to: General Manager

Education level: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality or a related field (MBA preferred).


Job Purpose

The Commercial Director will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth across all aspects of our golf course and clubhouse operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the sales & marketing strategies, with a primary focus on golf course memberships, corporate tournaments, and food and beverage offerings. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and a dynamic salesperson, capable of delivering results in a competitive market. As the direct supervisor of the Event Coordinator, the Commercial Director will also oversee all event of the club.


Commercial Director/Deputy GM’s responsibilities include but not limited to:

  1. Golf Course and Membership Sales:
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain golf course members.
  • Manage membership sales, renewals, and member relations.
  • Establish relationships with local golf organizations and associations.
  1. Corporate Sales and Partnerships:
  • Identify and target potential corporate clients for hosting golf tournaments and events
  • Create customized tournament packages to meet the needs of corporate clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate decision-makers.
  • Negotiate and finalize sponsorship agreements with corporate partners.
  1. Food and Beverage Revenue Generation:
  • Collaborate with the clubhouse management team to develop and execute food and beverage sales strategies.
  • Promote restaurant and bar offerings to members, guests, and the local community.
  • Oversee catering and event sales for private functions and special events.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data to optimize pricing and menu offerings.
  1. Spa, Fitness, and Recreational Facilities:
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for the spa, fitness center, and recreational facilities.
  • Drive membership sales for the spa and fitness center.
  • Promote the use of the tennis and squash courts among members and guests.
  1. Deputy General Manager Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Deputy General Manager in the absence of the General Manager, assuming overall operational responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist in budget planning, financial management, and reporting.
  • Support the General Manager in strategic planning and decision-making.
  1. Financial Management:
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for the commercial department.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure the club operates within budgetary constraints.
  1. Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement long-term strategies for the golf club’s growth and improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction.


Knowledge, Skills, and Traits

  • 5years of experience in working as the Technical advisor/Deputy General manager.
  • Proven track record of successful sales and revenue generation in the hospitality industry.
  • Experience in developing and executing corporate sales strategies.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including restaurant and catering sales.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Results-driven with a passion for exceeding revenue targets.
  • Knowledge of the local market and connections within the business community are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required, both oral and written.
  • Fluency in French will be an asset.
