Role Overview:

As a Business Development Manager specializing in Digital Financial Services at Bank of Kigali, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our digital financial offerings. Leveraging your expertise in the financial sector and digital technologies, you will lead strategic initiatives to acquire new customers, deepen existing relationships, and enhance our digital product portfolio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in the financial services industry and contribute to the bank’s strategic objectives.


Main Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to promote digital financial services, including online banking, mobile banking, digital payments, and other digital solutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities and target markets through market research, competitor analysis, and customer segmentation.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate clients, fintech partners, government agencies, and industry associations, to drive collaboration and business growth.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, sales, and customer service, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of digital initiatives.
  • Lead the sales process for digital financial services, including prospecting, pitching, negotiating terms, and closing deals to achieve revenue targets and market share goals.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and demonstrations to showcase the value proposition of digital financial services to potential clients and partners.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies in the digital financial services landscape, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze performance metrics, KPIs, and customer feedback to assess the effectiveness of digital initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, innovation trends, and competitive landscape to maintain a competitive edge and drive continuous improvement.
  • Represent the bank at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance brand visibility, establish thought leadership, and cultivate strategic partnerships.




Experience

  • Digital Strategy Development: Collaborating with senior management to develop a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns with the bank’s business objectives and market trends. This involves conducting market research, analyzing competitor offerings, and identifying opportunities for innovation in digital financial services.
  • Product Innovation: Leading the development and launch of new digital financial products and services, such as mobile banking apps, online payment solutions, and digital wallets. This includes working closely with product development teams, technology vendors, and third-party partners to ensure successful implementation and adoption.


  • Customer Experience Enhancement: Improving the customer experience across digital channels by implementing user-friendly interfaces, intuitive navigation, and personalized features. This may involve conducting user testing, gathering feedback from customers, and iterating on digital offerings to optimize usability and satisfaction.
  • Revenue Generation: Developing strategies to drive revenue growth through digital financial services, such as increasing customer acquisition, cross-selling additional products, and monetizing digital channels. This could include implementing value-added services, loyalty programs, and premium features to enhance the value proposition for customers.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Ensuring regulatory compliance and managing risks associated with digital financial services, including data security, privacy, and fraud prevention. This involves collaborating with compliance and risk management teams to implement robust controls, monitoring systems, and incident response protocols.
  • Partnership and Collaboration: Building strategic partnerships with fintech companies, technology vendors, and other stakeholders to enhance the bank’s digital capabilities and expand its digital ecosystem. This may include negotiating partnerships, joint ventures, or investments to access new technologies, markets, and customer segments.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Leading a team of digital banking professionals, including product managers, digital marketers, UX/UI designers, and developers. This involves providing direction, guidance, and mentorship to drive performance and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success and effectiveness of digital financial services initiatives. This includes analyzing data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to optimize performance and achieve business objectives.




Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven track record of 5+ years in business development, sales, or marketing roles within the financial services industry, with a focus on digital banking or fintech.
  • Strong understanding of digital technologies, online platforms, and digital payment solutions, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, negotiate effectively, and influence decision-makers at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset, capable of developing and executing complex business development plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis, market research, and financial modeling to inform strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and proposals to diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for innovation and digital transformation in the financial services industry.
  • Professional certifications in business development, sales, or digital marketing are a plus.
