Job Description
Elaborate the annual plan of blood collection activities
– Plan weekly and monthly activities related to blood donor mobilization;
– Organize contact networks necessary for blood donor mobilization activities;
– Develop partnership with schools, churches, public and private organization and local government authorities to promote regular blood donation;
– Prepare relevant tools for blood donor mobilization campaign;
– Organize conferences and other meetings for donor mobilizations;
– Organize regular meetings and conferences in schools(secondary and universities), keep a tag with them out of schools and during holidays;
– Elaborate weekly and monthly schedule for blood collections, taking in account needs in blood for transfusion;
– Perform the pre-donation counseling and blood donor education;
– Perform blood donor recruitment in the area served by the RCBT;
– Participate in the elaboration of documents needed for donor recruitment and donor selection,
– Ensure compliance with quality requirements in his/her service;
– Perform any other duties as assigned by hierarchical supervisors;
– Report to the Director of RCBT;
In collaboration with the Director of Unit, and the top NCBT management:
– Ensures a steady supply of Blood and Blood products to all Transfusing Health
facilities in the catchment area.
In collaboration with all external stakeholders:
– Ensures an adequate pool of Blood donors to satisfy Hospital needs.
In collaboration with the laboratory team:
– Ensures a constant supply of Blood and Blood products.
In collaboration with the NCBT Logistics Manager:
– Ensures a steady supply of all logistical materials related to Blood Collection activities.
N.B: Having a training certificate in Blood Transfusion is an added advantage.
