As part of the expansion strategy, we are looking for interested, qualified, and competent candidates to fill the following position:

  • Reports to:                Supervisor, Baggage Services
  • Department:             Ground Services
  • Duty Station:            Kigali International Airport (KIA)


Job Purpose

To ensure efficient and effective customer focus

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the primary lost baggage process, as well as customer enquiries, and also help to heavily increase ground staff productivity and flexibility, leading to reduced unit costs;
  • Provide declaration forms to the passengers and follow-up of baggage status through internet and delivery preparation by the passenger;
  • Prepare and create Property Irregularity Report (PIR) in order to search for delayed baggage in the World Tracer system;
  • Create reports for received baggage and update sent or rushed baggage in the World Tracer (file status, delivery status);
  • Handle misrouted baggage in a fast and effective way by checking if the bag can still be loaded on the passenger flight;
  • Produce all necessary messages and baggage labels in order to forward the bag in the fastest way to its final destination;
  • Maximize the timely loading of misrouted baggage and optimize department productivity
  • Provide quality services and professionalism towards the passengers and the handled airlines.


Desired Profile: Required Education, Experience and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Hospitality Diploma with a minimum of 2-year experience in the commercial, aviation or tourism industry;
  • Relevant IATA, AMADEUS or World Tracer qualification would be an added advantage
  • Certificate in relevant computers applications;
  • Experience in service delivery in a demanding consumer service environment;
  • Customer service experience in hospitality/airline industry;
  • Knowledge of airport services and baggage enquiry operations;
  • Commercial acumen with an overall knowledge of airline operations;
  • Excellent command of English language (written and verbal) is essential;
  • Pleasant and presentable;
  • Process-oriented;
  • Proactive and results-orientated;
