Job Description

â–ª Act as an adviser to student organizations
â–ª Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and on career issues.
â–ª Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
â–ª Conduct lecture planning, preparation, and research.
â–ª Conduct research in a particular field of knowledge, and publish findings in books, professional journals, and/or electronic media.
â–ª Conduct training of trainers.
â–ª Contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of a high-quality curriculum.
â–ª Contribute to TVET research and publications.
â–ª Engage in professional and personal development.
▪ Evaluate and grade students’ classwork, assignments, and papers.
â–ª Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
â–ª Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
â–ª Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
â–ª Mentor and coach junior academic staff (assistant lecturers and tutorial assistants) and participate in their evaluation.
â–ª Participate in campus and community events
â–ª Participate in income-generating activities of the institution.
â–ª Perform all other tasks assigned by her/his supervisors.
â–ª Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
â–ª Provide professional and technical advice to her/his supervisors.
â–ª Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
â–ª Supervise students’ laboratory and/or fieldwork.
â–ª Teach/Train students in areas assigned by the institution.
â–ª Write grant proposals to procure external research funding.
â–ª Supervise and maintain all equipment in forest harvesting operations to relevant standards, including potentially hazardous equipment.
Note: 1. Having a professional certificate for any of the required technical
Skills is an advantage
