Job description
– Implement the District’s agriculture strategy or plan in conformity with policies and strategies in areas of agriculture keeping at the Sector level;
–    Design themes for agricultural extension and advisory services to local farmers;
–    Analyze constraints faced by the agricultural keeping areas at the Sector level;
–    Elaborate program for improvement of marketing outlets for agricultural produce in the Sector;
–    Evaluate activities related to the prevention of crop diseases;
–    Collect agro-meteorological data for agricultural needs;
–    Elaborate selected seeds distribution programmes;
–    Initiate erosion control activities and monitor their implementation;
–    Supervise the collection of water-related data for agricultural purpose;
–    Establish mechanisms for corollary irrigation and water;
–    Collect agricultural data to forecast harvests and to evaluate the food situation;
–    Collect water-related data for agricultural purposes.
–    Organize training seminars for crop growers, both at the individual level or in associations or cooperatives;
–    Establish mechanisms for the dissemination of new technologies in areas of agriculture;
–    Organize markets outlets for agricultural products;
–    Control the implementation of natural resources protection measures (water, forests);
–    Organize public awareness campaigns of the population for a rational use of these resources;
–    Implement programs for public awareness on environmental protection;
–    Inform competent authorities in case of violation of environmental regulations and disaster threatening environment;
–    Check whether mine operators comply with the mining industry standards.
