Job Description
– Plan and coordinate plant tissue culture and regeneration activities for banana, cassava, and potato. – Develop and optimize tissue culture and embryogenic cell suspension protocols – Supervise large-scale multiplication and quality control of in vitro plant materials. – Coordinate regeneration, acclimatization, and transfer of plantlets to greenhouse and screenhouse facilities. – Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs for tissue culture laboratories, biosafety. – Train RAB staff and students in tissue culture techniques – Maintain documentation and traceability of plant material. – Supervise tissue culture technicians and laboratory assistants. – Support preparation of plant materials for trials, breeding, and seed systems. – Prepare technical reports and scientific publications – Undertake any other duties s assigned by his/her supervisor
