Job Description
– Developing and implementing media engagement plans to ensure that health information is disseminated through a range of mainstream and social media.
– Providing very regular updates to the health sector’s online platforms and encouraging innovative engagement based on the use of these platforms.
Conducting media relations activities, including media tours, press briefings, organised interviews and other media placements
– Pitching stories to local, regional and international media and providing support to editorials until pitched stories are published/broadcasted
– Reviewing Op-Eds from health sector’s officials and work with print/online media for their publication
– Liaising with media houses to provide health professionals to appear on radio/TV programmes or be interviewed for other publications, including print and online.
– Producing content for social media and broadcast media in line with health campaigns, conferences or ongoing program activities
– Leading the branding procedure for the RBC and the health sector in general
– Providing detailed weekly plans / reports to the Division Manager detailing the progress and the challenges in the completion of his/her duties.
– Follow up on social media trends and provide timely responses to arising queries regarding health sector as well as compiling a daily media review report addressed to the health sector officials to inform their interventions
