Livelihood and Education Officer
World Vision is a child-focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programs in 30 Districts of Rwanda. Our interventions in the strategic period of 2021-2025 seek to reach 2 million of the most vulnerable children. This is done through programming in Resilience and Livelihoods, WASH and Health, Child Protection, and Education.
World Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a qualified, dedicated, and experienced Rwandan national for the role of Livelihood and Education Officer, joining an established and experienced team. This position will be based in Gashora ETM – Bugesera District and reports to the Emergency Transit Mechanism Coordinator.
JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of Emergency Transit Mechanism Coordinator, The Livelihood and Education Officer, is responsible for the daily technical planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring, and reporting of all livelihood and education activities in GASHORA ETM, to ensure the effective implementation and sustainability of the project by keeping the standards agreed with WVI ministry policies. He/she will facilitate the implementation of Livelihood and Education activities to improve the well-being of evacuees in GASHORA ETM and host community members by ensuring that project operations are effective and efficiently implemented.

Planning of livelihood and education activities, initiating yearly plans following the set project log frame and allocating funds; and ensuring that all planned activities are done within the stipulated time, and budget and the beneficiary targets are reached. |

Identify and analyze livelihood and education gaps, views, feelings, and needs of the population in GASHORA ETM to propose/design possible solutions in line with the project log frame, and inform and document the anomalies and the challenges carried out during the implementation phase of the project. |

Engage in the preparation, designing, and contextualization of appropriate guidelines, training manuals and standards, educational materials, and promotional tools for Livelihood and Education activities in GASHORA ETM. |

Promote major cross-cutting themes including environment, gender, protection, disability, peacebuilding, and Christian commitment to ensure that all children and families are participating and benefiting from Project interventions. |

Coordinate with local authorities from GASHORA Sector to identify host community members to be enrolled in vocational skills courses and Assist/support communities to organize themselves for project participation and decision-making, provide technical support, training, and advice to strengthen Livelihood and Education activities within GASHORA ETM. |

Assist in monitoring & evaluation and reporting of Livelihood and education activities from the implementation area, capturing the data required for reporting and documenting success stories, innovations, and best practices. |
