WASH Facilitator (UNCHR Project)
World Vision is a child-focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programs in 30 Districts of Rwanda. Our interventions in the strategic period of 2021-2025 seek to reach 2 million of the most vulnerable children. This is done through programming in Resilience and Livelihoods, WASH and Health, Child Protection, and Education.
World Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a qualified, dedicated, and experienced Rwandan national for the role of WASH Facilitator, joining an established and experienced team. This position will be based in Nkamira ETM – Rubavu District and reports to the WASH Project Manager.
NB: This is a fixed term contract ending by December 2023 with possibility of renewal.
Purpose of the position:
Facilitate the implementation of WASH services so as to improve the wellbeing of refugee population in the refugee camp and ensuring that project operations are effective and sustainable in keeping the standards agreed with WVI ministry policies
The WASH Facilitator will ensure the implementation of project activities and their integration within the Nkamira Transit Center specifically by promoting sanitation and hygiene best practices among hosted refugee population.

Planning of WASH activities, initiating yearly plans following the set project log frame and allocating funds; and ensuring that all planned activities are done within the stipulated time, and budget and the beneficiary targets are reached. |

Identify and analyze WASH gaps, views, feelings, and needs of the population in the transit center to propose/design possible solutions in line with the project log frame |

Engage in the preparation, designing, and contextualization of appropriate guidelines, training manuals, standards, educational materials, and promotional tools for sanitation and hygiene activities. |

Promote major cross-cutting themes including environment, gender, protection, disability, peacebuilding, and Christian commitment to ensure that all children and families are participating and benefiting from Project interventions. |

Assist/support communities to organize themselves for project participation and decision-making, provide technical support, training, and advice to strengthen WASH activities within the transit center |

20% |
Assist in monitoring & evaluation and reporting of WASH activities from the implementation area, capturing the data required for reporting and documenting success stories, innovations, and best practices |

Required Professional Experience |

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification |
Environmental Health Science, environmental science, water and sanitation, humanitarian affairs and other related field |

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications |
Bachelor’s degree

Salary:
The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
