Job Description
Reporting to the Seed and Fertilizers Division Manager, the Supply Chain Management Officer has the following functions:
– Undertake the establishment of demand-supply articulation to effectively inform production planning for the local production of improved seed for priority crops;
– Initiate and actively participate in the development of planning and monitoring of the seed production and distribution activities;
– Actively contribute to devising mechanisms that promote improved forecasting of demand for seeds and fertilizers to allow for effective planning and supply of the needed quantities of inputs;
– Initiation of mechanisms aimed at timely availing affordable seed, fertilizers and other agricultural inputs to farmers;
– Implement and supervise to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in agricultural inputs delivery system;
– Monitoring the availability and delivery of seeds and fertilizers to farmers each season;
– Disseminating and enforcing of the required quality standards along the seed and fertilizers supply chain;
– Organizing and conducting trainings events (meetings with seed producers and fertilizer suppliers, seminars, workshops and farmer exchange visits) related to seed production and fertilizers supply chain;
– Conduct sessions for seed production planning, monitoring, evaluation, impact assessment and reporting processes of the and distribution;
– Monitor the implementation of plans for the production of different categories of seed for priority crops both on RAB Stations and private seed multipliers.
– Develop and use of innovate tools to ensure the delivery of seeds and fertilizers distributed for use farmers in districts are adequately monitored;
– Ensure the implementation of activities, projects and assets management that promote the delivery of adequate quality seed in the country and that public finances and goods are well managed;
– Undertaking any other duties as assigned by the work supervisor and other relevant authorities.
– Preparing weekly, quarterly, and annual reports related to seed and fertilizer supply chain activities;

Fluency in Kinyaranda English and or French knowledge of Swahili is an added advantage
