| Purpose |
A Principal Professional – Team Leader in charge of data analytics is the principal technical expert in Data science unit. S/he works with Data science team to help improve data science policies, strategies, processes and systems typically through analysis and strategic thinking by conducting research and analysis in order to identify performance gaps and solutions to business problems, and to recommend innovations to improve business operations. The Principal Profession- Team Leader in charge of data analytics may also perform selected operational and technical roles of a highly complex nature either on occasional or permanent basis based on the nature of the operations.

| Key duties and responsibilities |
- Lead data science projects and coordinate the team to produce better business outcomes
- Conceive, plan, and prioritize data projects in alignment with RRA goals
- Translate unstructured problems into well-defined machine learning projects or research
- Design and implement data-driven models to predict outcomes
- Work with large data sets to solve complicated data analysis problems using statistical and machine learning approaches
- Build mathematical models from various data types capable of providing insights, to create and improve the product
- Create and maintain standard software libraries, as well as the documentation that goes with them
- Provide resources and training to ensure that procedures and outputs are of high quality
- Work with business side partners in the operational departments to identify repetitive tasks, analysis, and reports that needs to be automated so as to speed up the process
- Develop data science business needs and requirements, new products, and perform user acceptance testing
- Identify and document specific business trends, challenges and opportunities for improvement for both existing or new potential data science policies, strategies, processes and standards
- Collect and analyze data on data science identified business challenges and opportunities and recommend improvements
- Standardize algorithms and methods used within the data science team
- Use and enforce the team to use gitlab to manage and monitor source codes of all tasks so as to ensure the security of them
- Enforce the team to adopt and use the best coding and software practices to ensure source codes are clean, maintainable, and reusable; and projects or tools developed can be easily scaled up
- Do a plan of a weekly and monthly priorities, produce monthly and weekly reports of achievements of the team, and share the reports to the supervisor
- Carry out any other task assigned by the supervisor
