Job Description

Reporting to the Pulses and Oil crops program Coordinator Senior Research fellow, the Pulses and Oil Crops Innovation and Tech Transfer Research Technician Grade III has the following responsibilities:

– Implement field trials/laboratory protocols to produce reliable and accurate data to support scientific investigations for pulses and oil crops
– Participate in trials establishment, data collection, data entry, analysis, interpretation and timely reporting of research results on pulses and oil crops
– Demonstrate the practices of procedures to students, visitors and other stakeholders in pulses and oil crops program
– Assist researchers in their regular activities in all pulses and oil crops scientific research
– Hold radio and TV live talks and or documentary films to increase awareness and create demand for use of improved pulses and oil crops and developed technologies/innovations
– Liaise with extension service providers in conducting on-farm technology verification trials, demonstrations and technology dissemination
– Training students, interns and new scientists on field plot techniques and practices.
– Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on pulses and oil crops research and technology transfer activities carried out
– Avoid the misuse of public resources under his/her responsibilities and ensure clean audit report when audit queries are raised




Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma in Crop Production

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Advanced Diploma in Agriculture Sciences

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Crop Production

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Crop Sciences

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Advanced Diploma in Crop Sciences

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Sciences

    5 Years of relevant experience

  • Advanced Diploma in Plant Sciences

    5 Years of relevant experience
