Job Description
Reporting to the Program Coordinator of Integrated Soil Fertility Management, the Integrated Soil Fertility Management Innovation and Technology Transfer Research Technician Grade I has the following responsibilities:
– Execute field trials or screen house and laboratory experiments for Integrated Soil Fertility Management Innovation and technology transfer to produce reliable and accurate data to support research outputs
– Collect and supervise data collection, and recording, on implemented activities for Integrated Soil Fertility Management Innovation and Technology Transfer
– Assisting researchers in their regular activities in scientific research for Integrated Soil Fertility Management Innovation and technology transfer
– Conduct monitoring, evaluation and follow up of established field activities for Integrated Soil Fertility Management Innovation and technology transfer
– Organize and avail field data from research and technology transfer for analysis and synthesis
– Provide training to students, interns and new scientists on field research techniques and practices for Integrated Soil Fertility Management
– Liaise with extension services and conduct on-farm demonstration plots for Integrated Soil Fertility Management
– Prepare field technical reports (weekly, quarterly and annual)
– Develop and document innovation on Integrated Soil Fertility Management
– Participate in packaging of innovations for dissemination
– Participate in preparation of outreach communication/dissemination materials in the field Integrated soil fertility management including radio message, leaflets, policy briefs
– Provide field technical assistance to farmers and stakeholders on aspects of Integrated Soil Fertility Management
– Provide feedback information from farmers and stakeholders on the transferred technologies and innovations for Integrated soil fertility management
– Ensure adequate management of resources under his or her responsibilities;
– Ensure a clean Audit in activities carried by the programme
– Working with the Communication Unit to increase awareness and visibility of the Institution through the work done the programme by various communication tools.
– Perform any other duty assigned by the Coordinator of the Program and other RAB Senior Managers.
